Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how much the government pays out to medicare, medicaid, and SSI each year? I wonder how much is spent on people with a "disability" as opposed to "age."

Has anyone ever heard of an officer in the Army being trasferred back to the states from Iraq two months into a one year tour? If so, what are the possible reasons? please help...my ex was brought back for what he claims was a position at Division and will not give me any detail about it...I'm concerned about combat stress and his emotional stability, two soldiers under his command were killed two weeks before he came home, but that is all I know. He has visitation with our 5yr old and I don't know if I should be concerned for our son's safety.

Just reading Hearts in Atlantis, v fab book! However its just got me thinking that i have no real idea of what the war in vietnam was really over, as im english, and altho took history to a-level we dont study tht war and its never really crossed my mind to check it out before. I know vaguely that there was a dictator throwing his weight around (as usual) and killing indiscriminately, probs communist? But dont know the details why America went in etc, was it becos they thought wht was happening was wrong, aka like they went into Iraq cos they thought wht was goin on there was wrong or is there more to it?
And if they did go in cos they thought wht was happening was wrong and no other reason is this why it attracted all the mass protests? kinda in a simailr way to the much lesser protests over the Iraq war? Or is that more complicated aswell.
Really loving this book, but with no prior knowledge leaves questions unanswered, can anyone help?

I think if they keep on on direction they are having now it might be better to have a clausewitz type action and then just let it be and not let are selves get pulled into the actuall country with a neocon restructing program, what does any body else think.

My 72 yr old father was terminated yesterday from his employer of 6 years. He worked as a caretaker of mentally challenged adults. They stated that he was suppose to sign some forms on medication that he administered. My father stated that on the day the signature was missing was a day that HE DID NOT work. They fired him anyways. I believe they are taking advantage of him because of his age. My father is an excellent worker, has been his whole life. Is never late and has not missed a day in years. He needs the income and is at a loss right now. I want to help him and have tried to find info of US Dept. of Labor website. Can someone please give me suggestions on what to do. We can not afford a lawyer. All my dad wants is to work. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

****** is a Dictator.
He suppresses the freedom of the press, (Snows attacks on NY Times)
jails his opponents, (Patriot Act)
makes insulting speeches about leaders of other countries, (Islamofacism) (axis of evil)

He thinks that by blaming the poor state of his country on the "evil" ************ he can hide the suffering of his people. (Terrorism)

Until he can join with the rest of the world in helpful and meaningful discussions he will never be more than a clown for the rest of the world (Who does he mean ?)

I just got home and I heard about the crackdown today, and they played a blurb of a teenager who was distraught about her father on the verge to get deported"saying there gonna break up families",I think its terrible that they used identity theft to gain a reputable job here with no regaurd to the persons identity stolen,or in taking responsibilities for the regaurds of their families that they have jeopardized by taking the chance....whats your take on this

Supposedly, we're in Iraq and ultimately it'll make a safer U.S. so why dont we help make mexico better so that all these immigrants won't have to keep sneaking in. Everyone deserves a chance at a great life..but the more illegal immigrants we have will make it harder for citizens.
I dont think we should just throw them back..becuause a lot of us would try to get out too, if we were in their position.

Is the US currently doing anything about helping out mexicans in their own country?

I have the worst luck. It started well - I was invited for dinner by friends and had a lovely meal at Brian Turner's restaurant at the Millenium Hotel in Grosvenor Square. We spent the rest of the night in the Pine Bar where I enjoyed a number of excellent vodka martinis. The only problem is that the date was 1st November, which was the day Mr Litvenenko availed himself of the hotel's hospitality.

Consequently, I have been contacted by the appropriate agencies and now have to do a urine test to see if I'm going to start glowing in the dark. I'm not massively worried - I have enough bad habits (those vodka martinis and a fondness for marlboro lights) to already have more immediate health concerns.

However, after receiving the equipment for the urine test (beautifully packaged in a Sainsbury's carrier bag sealed with masking tape, and left under a plant pot in my garden with no instructions at all), I wonder if my alcohol and cigarette intake will affect the results of the test?

I got a citation for Displayed Fictitious Number Plate in Colorado. (42-3-121 (1) (b).
I was driving my car that I had purchased from a lady that I work with. She left the tags on there and told me I could keep them. Now the care was registered, just not in my name. Is this correct? Should I have been charged with this? The officer took my plates at the scene, and I had to have my car towed. I got it registered today, in my name. I have to go to court because of this. If the charge is correct, what can happen to me when I go to court?? If there is anyone that might have advice for me, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks!!!
