Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how much the government pays out to medicare, medicaid, and SSI each year? I wonder how much is spent on people with a "disability" as opposed to "age."

wayyyyyyyy to much. im sure gutterpup is right. its unbeleivable how much money is wasted in medicaid on just drugs. theyll pay for just about anything. many, many, many medicaid people work the system, and they get better healthcare. its one thing for the gov to pay for a poor person to get an antbiotic or lifesaving drug, but i get so mad when a medicaid people roll in and gets something like patanol (an eye drop for seasonal allergy, costs ~$100- just take a friggin antihistamine that costs 10 cents like everybody else. quite a bit of money for an unproductive member of society not to have itchy eyes while they sit on the couch and watch judge judy) or some other drug that i would consider a luxury rather than a neccesity and then is a rude jackass if it takes more than 3 minutes to pay their prescription or if they have to pay their dollar. and people like that arent the exception, i bet over 50% of people i deal with on government assistance are rude and undeserving of the help they get
