Has anyone ever heard of an officer in the Army being trasferred back to the states from Iraq two months into a one year tour? If so, what are the possible reasons? please help...my ex was brought back for what he claims was a position at Division and will not give me any detail about it...I'm concerned about combat stress and his emotional stability, two soldiers under his command were killed two weeks before he came home, but that is all I know. He has visitation with our 5yr old and I don't know if I should be concerned for our son's safety.

I don't blame you for being concern. It is very stressful to lose someone in your unit even if you weren't in charge of them. When I was over there we had a few officer relieved of their duty and we had one officer who was sent back to the states to take charge of the rear detach. So it is possible that your ex was just sent back because of the reason he stated. But if you're really concern just pay attention to his behavior toward you and your son. I'm sure he loves your son and would not do anything harmful.

I do not see any real reason for concern...

When I was in the Military, you learned that they pretty much do whatever they want with you and that's it. It does not supprise me to hear of a change in his assignment. I doubt it has anything to do with the deaths that you are talking about...
