It finally happened-I received a summons for jury duty. Does anyone know any ways to get out of it? I was thinking of sending a letter stating financial hardship. I make no money, my boss doesn't pay for jury duty, and I'm a full time student. I didn't think I'd be summoned this young(I'm 22). PLEASE HELP!!!

IN MY DEBATE CLASS I'm arguing against Capital Punishment (A.K.A, the Death Penalty). Now, I am usually for it when it comes to certain cases, i.e, rape, murder, or smt equally as heinous, but I have chosen to argue against it to see what the other side has to say about Capital Punishment.
I was quite dismayed that most arguments against Captial Punishment was for religious reasons... now, I have to research my side, and I'm curious as to what both sides for or against Capital Punishment has to say, but I am not interested in religious reasons why it's right or wrong, K?

Imagine you are in Central London or any major city in the U.K. You hail a taxi. As you are settling down in the back of the taxi you see a smart leather attache case on the floor. Surreptitiously, so that the driver does not see, you open the case and find £50,000 in small used notes. From what you see in the case it is clear that this is drug money. Question: what would you do? Keep the money? After all you are only depriving some scumbag crim. of his loot. Hand the money over to the authorities? They are highly unlikly to find and arrest the owner, and he is as unlikly to report it's loss. So what would ypu do?

I can’t think of anything more “unreasonable” than seizing private financial papers and effects every year without a warrant. It seems like a overt violation of the 4th amendment right to privacy. . . .

4th Amendment: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated..."

Has he? I've been looking for a link to a quotation where he actually said "If you don't vote for me then you're a racist." I've been reading that he said this all over YA but each time there is no link, and honestly, I can't find one. I know he addressed the idiots making a big deal out of his middle name and he should have. But can anyone prove he actually said the above? Or was it something else that got twisted into nothing but slander? I really want to know, despite my sarcasm. I'm very interested in this candidate. So if those of you who keep saying that he said this can provide proof I would be very interested. If not, then I guess it's what it seems to be - spin to make him look bad.

PIN NUMBER REVERSAL

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM
machine, you can notify the police by entering your PIN # in reverse.

For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM
recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine.

The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to
the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.

There is no constitutional right to marriage.

Marriage is a privilege granted by each of the states.

Where do you draw the line on who can get married?

If a man wants to marry another man of the same gender, why can't a man marry two or three or four women?

Why does one-on-one marriages have to be the only rule?

If government should stay out of the bedroom, why shouldn't people be allowed to enter in any lifestyle of their choice?
