PIN NUMBER REVERSAL

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM
machine, you can notify the police by entering your PIN # in reverse.

For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM
recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine.

The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to
the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.

I got that email yesterday and decided to look it up before passing it along and, as it turns out, you can NOT do that. The article also stated that that technology does indeed exist but banks won't use it because they are afraid people would hesitate while trying to think of what their PIN was in reverse and it might cause the thief to become agitated and increase the chances of violence.

By no means heard this kind of factor. Your pal is mendacity to you. The satisfactory method to avert robbers is by no means to use an ATM desktop at night certainly if the financial institution is in a depressing subject. There are some pin numbers is the equal as reverse and forwards like 2332. How can that prevent robbers?

Common sense will tell you, if you enter the wrong pin number, the ATM will NOT dispense you any money. This is total malarkey. There is NO truth to this at all.

Yeah that is not true. It would be cool however what happens if your # is 1221 or 5665? It would not work because the cops would be getting called all the time.

ATM machines are in no way connected to local police stations. They will not alarm if incorrect ATM code is entered...
