1)Yourself voting in next general election - is it important?
Yes. It determines how the country will be run.
2) Peer pressure in society
Part of life. Weak people bow to it. Strong people tell them to go to hell.
3) Trade Unions - do they affect you?
No. When unions were founded, they were a good thing. However now they have lost sight of their vision and the end result is our manufacturing jobs are being lost because of the cost associated with all of the promises made in the past.
4) Pressure groups?
Don't affect me.
5) Free speech?
Speech should be free, but it should have some limits and manners. Violence should never be tolerated because of an opposing view and idiots should just be ignored. Did you hear that Ward Churchhill?
6) If a region wanted to be independent of the national Government, e.g. Catalunya from Spain, Bavaria from Germany etc.
This should be put to a vote by the people. How do you think we got here in the USA? We revolted against the king.

1)Yourself voting in next general election - is it important?
** Yes I'm voting in the next election. Even though I'm in a state that doesn't vote the way I do, I feel it's very important and then gives me the right to biatch if the person that get's into office isn't doing a good job. Even though I realize it's the toughest job in the coutry and I'm not going to always like what the government decides to do. I feel I have more of a right to complain about it, if I actually vote. (I even tell my honey that, when he complains that he doesn't have a right to complain, because he doesn't vote and actually refuses to vote.)
2) Peer pressure in society.
** I never listened to peer pressure in High School, so I sure ain't listening to it now. And I feel everyone would be a lot happier if they adopted the same attitude.
3) Trade Unions - do they affect you?
** No
4) Pressure groups?
** Same as Peer Pressure.
5) Free speech?
** I think it's a great concept, but does need to have censors put to it at times.
6) If a region wanted to be independent of the national Government, e.g. Catalunya from Spain, Bavaria from Germany etc.
** I feel that's where the US went wrong back during the Civil War. We should have allowed to South to set up their own government. And I feel they would have abolished slavery on their own, just like every other country eventually did, since it was a bad concept that could never last. So saying that: I feel any country who wants to govern themselves should have the right to do so.
Advantages and Disadvantages.
Advantages would be - no blood shed and a peaceful split where the two govenrments can easily work together.
Disadvantages - If you are two small you could easily be walked on by bigger countries. (But Belgium is doing great.)

1) I would - but there is no point making the effort to do it. Once it goes online I will.
2) A good thing. Helps conformity - stops people becoming wackos- has always been this way and probably always will!
3) Trade unions are socialist bullies with low education who are violent/provocational.
4) Represent things that are not in the public interest - like LGBT (homosexual) groups and religious dress that are detrimental to society.
5) Should be really free. Liberal view are currently being opened up... but at the expense of traditional conservative views.
6) Depends. If the region has more resources than country this is not really fair. Also, if country is poor separation would not be in the interests of the region. In some cases I think it would be OK though (I want us to dump Northern Ireland :) )

2. The biggest thing responsible for anti-social behaviour in this country today.
3. Not personally, but when I worked they were important and still are as worker representation.
4. Can be very important but need to be run by clear-thinking, sensible people, not hot-heads.
5. Can't do without it.
6. Should be allowed. Then when they find that it wasn't such a good idea after all, don't let 'em back!

1) I don't vote because I think they are all corrupt
2) I resist peer pressure strongly - it's dangerous
3) I have to belong to one because I'm a teacher. But I'm reluctant. Last year I was forced to refuse to teach a child because the union told us to. Nasty situation since it made us in breach of contract.
4) Pressure groups - not sure. You means like animal lib? Bad if they go about things in an illegal way but useful otherwise.
5) Free speech - is good if it's political views etc. Bad if it's just foul language or insulting others.
6) I guess it's natural to want to but it's very tiresome!
