I just got home and I heard about the crackdown today, and they played a blurb of a teenager who was distraught about her father on the verge to get deported"saying there gonna break up families",I think its terrible that they used identity theft to gain a reputable job here with no regaurd to the persons identity stolen,or in taking responsibilities for the regaurds of their families that they have jeopardized by taking the chance....whats your take on this

I am glad they are beginning to take action. It should not have taken a year of investigation to do what they have done tho. All the large companies really know that they have the illegal working there even with the fake ID's. It is insane for them to deny that they know. But, one of the news accounts really bothers me. It is the one that I will list at the end of this answer. They had a police chief in Grand Island, Nebraska that made the comment:

At Grand Island, Police Chief Steve Lamken said he refused to let his officers take part in the raid.
"When this is all over, we're still here taking care of our community and if I have a significant part of my population that's fearful and won't call us then that's not good for our community,'' he said.

Now that guy needs to be arrested. A police chief cannot nor should not be allowed to determine which laws he feels the need to uphold or assist another agency to enforce. I went to the Grand Island, Nebraska website and wrote an email to him and the mayor of that town. I suggest that others do the same. This type of action by a leader should not be tolerated.

I can understand why they want to come here for a better life, I really do and I say, let them come, legally! I'm tired of all of these illegal immigrants! I live near and know several people who work at a local warehouse and it is filled with illegals and from what I understand and have witnessed on occasion myself, they are criminals! They lie, cheat and steal to get what they want and they bleed our system dry of all the assistance they can get! I'm disgusted by it. If you come here illegally, get caught then you get sent home and no coming back!

It's about damn time!! This should've been done 10-15 years ago before it became an epidemic.

They want to come here and live, give them a canteen,a rifle, some ammo, and ship them to Iraq.

it needed to be done, we need to shut down those that hire them and deport illegals. But our borders need secured so they cannot re-enter. WHO CARES ABOUT THE FRIGGIN FAMILY, the alien should have thought about that before coming here

I love the "breaking up families" routine- if the "family" is so concerned, then they need to follow their dad to wherever he came from, so the family can stay together. Besides, how come they don't worry about that when the dad comes here illegally, leaving his family behind? Good riddance...

That they stole someone's identity and are working and living in this country illegally.
They should be deported, along with their families.

I agree 100%. I think the daughter should be prosecuted for not turning her father in for the FELONY crime of stealing identity.

It is sad to see that many Americans have lost their sense of justice. Many cry to uphold the law. Well, the law is a piece of paper that can be changed according to the prevalent will. Justice on the other hand is eternal.

I always wonder what happened to the great Americans. Those that understand the upholding the law is not nearly as satisfying as upholding justice. I'll keep looking.
