During the course of a typical traffic violation scenario with police, if the officer asks for I.D. on a passenger and subsequently finds that person is a convicted felon but is not in violation of anything, can the driver be deprived of his Fourth Amendment right of illegal search and seizure simply by association with such person? This is assuming a routine traffic stop with driver having a spotless traffic and criminal record. Thanks!

We all know if you don't pay state & federal income taxes, they can take away your freedom by putting you in prison for income tax evasion! You might say the taxes are for running our government. If they were to run our country the right way, they wouldn't need our money. If its for fighting wars, its wasted money, plus, the most powerful nation in the world doesn't need to fight overseas to prove a point. Other taxes are alright! The above is for a theisis I have to write! What's your valued opinion?

From what I've seen, Hillary and Nancy Pelosi are pretty moderate.

It must be the whole "conseratives are threatened by women in power" thing........

The Student Teacher Safety Act of 2006 (HR 5295) would require any school receiving federal funding--essentially every public school--to adopt policies requiring teachers and school officials to conduct random, warrantless searches of every student, at any time, on the flimsiest of pretexts. Saying they suspect that one student might have drugs could give officials the authority to search every student in the building.

These searches could take the form of pat-downs, bag searches, or strip searches depending on how administrators interpret the law.

House leaders circumvented the usual legislative procedure to bring the bill to a quick vote. It did not pass through the committee process, but went straight to the House floor. There, it was passed by a simple voice vote, so constituents cannot even find out how their Representative voted.

I need the answer to something relating to domestic violence/stalking?
I left a domestic vioolence relationship about 3 or 4 years ago. The preson turned out to be a sex offender, abuser, mentally ill, etc. I do consider him to be VERY dangerous. He was obsessed with me and still occassionally calls my mom's (he has her number) asking her to get me to call him. I had to change my phone number 3 times and move. I felt safe as I don't/didn't think he knows where I live.
I just found out all he has to do to find my new address is go the the board of elections (BOE) webpage and type in my name and up pops my address for all to see. I was shocked after trying so hard to keep everything secret that it is this easy to find out when I live or will live even if I change locations in my city forever. I called the BOE to ask if I coud get it removed and I was told no that t is public records and there is nothing I can do. Now I am scared again..scared he will think of it and find me. He once got my social security number from a public record.

They're both zealots who believe they're right and everyone else is automatically wrong. They try to control people through fear. Even though neither Jesus nor Mohammad advocated violence, they both seem to think putting your enemies to the sword is what God wants. So besides having a different name for God, what's the difference?
And yet the Religious Right has the gall to label Liberals as terrorist sympathizers?

It seems more people would have a chance to vote, it would be easier to get ballot workers and volunteers and we'd be celebrating freedom!

Is there any evidence to support this?

The FDA declared GE foods to be safe in the face of broad disagreement from its own experts -- all the while claiming an overwhelming scientific consensus supported its stance.

Evidence shows the agency flagrantly violates the U.S. Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, which mandates that new food additives be demonstrated safe through testing before they are marketed. While the FDA admits that bioengineered organisms fall under this provision, it claims they are exempt from testing because they are "generally recognized as safe", even though their own scientists disagree.

Every genetically engineered food in the U.S. is on the market illegally and should be recalled for rigorous safety testing. The FDA has deliberately unleashed a host of potentially harmful foods onto American dinner tables in blatant violation of U.S. law. AND YOU DONT GET TO KNOW WHICH FOODS THEY ARE.

Doesn't this means that more than half of this country is ignorant and naive?? Look at all the red states who supported the evil Bush who used Fear tactics to brainwashed Americans to have voted for him??!!! How could anyone believe that Rep can do better to protect us from Terrorism than Dems??? Not to mention, all these major terrorisms happened during Bush's watch/Republicans?? So do you think Dem can do worse than the Bush and his clans?????
