For one day it would take the Military to decide he was too dangerous to continue. Otherwise, it takes impeachment from Congress, which would take time. Vets are organizing to do that.

Are you from a foreign country, like Zambeezee or something? Bush was not overthrown. Do you know what overthrown means? He is an elected president, and still is president. Overthrown means to oust a political party, or person, as in a ruling authority out of dictatorship of a nation, or changing of a ruling branch, not a congress receiving a majority. Next time you ask a question, it is advisable that you know what you are saying.

Midterm question? You me some jerk of a professor gave you this question for a grade?! Do you or he realize that it's treasonous and if the government is watching our activity on the Internet, as I'm sure he's gone on and on about, both you and he could be in big trouble? Rather than answer the question, why not do the University a favor and call either the FBI or the Secret Service or both and turn the jerk in. Hey! give me his name and email or phone number and I'll turn him in after I call the Provost of the University and have a little talk with him.

Bush is still president & will be until 01,01,07. He has lost his hold on the congress but not the office It is up to both democrates who won & the republicans to work together to get things done. Even though the democrates are in power they can not do every thing by them self , anymore then the republicans could when they were in power . Its like a marriage, it iakes two to make it work. So lets let the past be the past & get the work for a greater america done. NO MOREHEARINGS & REVENGE. hearing after hearings do nothing but take time from what is important .Get this country back to being the greatest country on earth.

He would simply have to take the consequences of the election result and resign. But then, would Dick Cheney be better?
The constitution provides no other possibility, and you certainly wouldn't like to see in America someone taking power by military force, as it happens sometimes in other parts of the world. This is often linked with bloodshed and injustice. By the way, why was Saddam condemned just two days before the midterm elections? Was it, that Bush needed desperately some success and that those Iraqi judges were not wholly independent from America?

Bush wasn't 'overthrown'-- he wasn't even on a ballot during this midterm election.

You would need a serious coordination of everything to pull it off, not the least of which would be surprise.

But the bigger question is what do you do after the overthrow? Who leads and for how long? And will people blithely accept what has happened?
