Well.... you dont have to pay INCOME taxes

IRS Form 1040 violates the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) and is therefore a legally invalid form. Under the Public Protection clause of the PRA, no person can be penalized for failing to file a 1040 if the IRS fails to fully comply with the PRA.

The IRS Individual Form 1040 has not and cannot comply with the requirements of the PRA because no existing statute authorizes the IRS to impose or collect the federal income tax from individuals. That lack of bona fide authority makes it impossible for IRS to avoid violating the PRA. IRS Form 1040 has not had a valid OMB(Office of Management and Budget) control number since 1982.

Section 3512 of the PRA, titled “Public Protection” reads as follows:

(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person shall be subject to any penalty for failing to comply with a collection of information that is subject to this subchapter [44 USCS § § 3501 et seq.] if--

(1) the collection of information does not display a valid control number assigned by the Director in accordance with this subchapter [44 USCS § § 3501 et seq.]; or

(2) the agency fails to inform the person who is to respond to the collection of information that such person is not required to respond to the collection of information unless it displays a valid control number.

(b) The protection provided by this section may be raised in the form of a complete defense, bar, or otherwise at any time during the agency administrative process or judicial action applicable thereto.

Actually we are free to pay taxes. You can file for an exemption from taxes and in fact a number of people have filed and do not pay taxes. If you are wealthy enough, you can find ways to hide your money away from the government and not pay taxes.

As far as our government doing things the right way, no government ever does it right. The old saying, "You can please some of the people some of the time, but all of the people none of the time" goes well for the government. There is no way that everyone will ever be happy.

Fighting wars is almost always a waste of money, but it is also a way to stimulate the economy. The government spends money on equipment and weapons that American companies produce.

The strength of a nation is partially at least based upon that nation's wealth. If our government had no funds, we would not be the most powerful nation in the world. You gain power and influence with wealth. That is not to say that the US could not have any influence without wealth, but it would be much less powerful.

Could taxes be reduced? Yes. We pay far too much money for things that are not important.

Take care,
Troy

Our freedoms have taken a beating. Unfortunately, from some of the responses you have gotten, you can see how brainwashed most of the people are, they don't even realize that their constitution has been circumvented and their individual rights are being violated. The powerful interests that control this country and government have successfully divided the people along party lines, classic 'divide and conquer' stratagem. Both parties are mirror images of each other and are tied together by powerful interests. There will either be a revolt (doubtful), massive support for a third party (like libertarians) or (likely) we will just continue to sink into a quagmire of more government control, intrusion, and diminishing freedom. Our individual sovereignty will continue to erode, all under the pretext of 'the common good', until prosperity and creativity grind to a halt.

Change your point of view...Those are not the only reasons for taxes. We need to support every other country on the planet too. Might want to put that in there because how much money do we send to all these 3rd world countries.

do not believe that 1040 Paper law mess. That is false. The 16th Amendment is all you need to know. Sure, we could show you countless websites, on people battling the IRS in court. All but 1 has failed.

Then there is the Tax Code which details all the stuff if you can read it. Taxes in any form, in the USA are legal and the citizens are bound to pay...no matter how much it pains us.

Individually we are free. As a nation we have to be protected. In fact this is the first duty of the President. Money is used to fight wars, but as you go out every day...how many things do you see that you are entitled to and is made by the government with people money.
And I rather have my country fighting a war overseas than in our streets

Think about it this way. It is the price of admission to live here.
If you don't like your taxes, you can live in another country. Most other countries, though, have much higher tax rates than the US.

If you don't like how the money is being spent, petition your representatives to change that. If they don't, help to get them out of office when it's time to vote. That's Democracy.

My God for the sake of your families name I hope you're under the age of 15, because if not; you need to hook up your brain to a car battery and rev it up a little.

This is a nation of laws, and we have freedom but there are restrictions on that freedom. Are you free to go around killing people? No! Awe, what kind of nation is this!

The only way to run the country without using money would be if a lot of people worked for free. From police to road crews, you would need A LOT of volunteers. Also, you are confusing the terms 'free' and 'freedom.'

Because there are services that must be provided to the People which the people cannot provide themselves. For example, water, post offices, law. They obviously need money to provide these services.
