Conservatism is a political philosophy that necessitates a defense of established values or the status quo. The term derives from to conserve; from Latin conservāre, "to keep, guard, observe". While not in itself an ideology, it is a political philosophy that is determined almost entirely by its context. Defined in part as an emphasis on tradition as a source of wisdom that goes beyond what can be demonstrated or even explicitly stated

Liberalism is an ideology, philosophical view, and political tradition which holds that liberty is the primary political value.[1] Liberalism has its roots in the Western Enlightenment, but the term now encompasses a diversity of political thought, with adherents spanning a large part of the political spectrum.

Broadly speaking, liberalism emphasizes individual rights. It seeks a society characterized by freedom of thought for individuals, limitations on power, especially of government and religion, the rule of law, free public education, the free exchange of ideas, a market economy that supports relatively free private enterprise, and a transparent system of government in which the rights of all citizens are protected.[2] In modern society, liberals favor a liberal democracy with open and fair elections, where all citizens have equal rights by law and an equal opportunity to succeed

If we leave Iraq like it is, will the same thing happen to the Iraqi people that happened to the south Vietnamese? Instead of sweatshops, slaughter houses are invented.

Do libs mind if I call them libs?

He had many opportunities of informing us about his plans with PNAC and building huge military bases all over the Mid east and did not do so!

Not to mention his lies, etc in getting America involved in his Farce of a war on Terror by invading Iraq!

Anyone else agree with me on this?

aswell as poluting the atmostphere? with all the band drivers and and teenage tear aways that are freely driving at there own will on our streets today. its just i read a question about parents smoking in cars while they had their children in it with them was a parental responsibility.and i thought there are more serious questions that need to be asked than that one. why are they picking on smokers that did not invent the smokeing. and if we take kids out in a car when we know there are band drivers and people who drive illegally on the roads because we hear it all the time on the news are we bad parents also for doing this then? are the laws looking for ways to make parents feel guilty about everything that is beyond there control? or are they just looking for ways to fine everyone?

Many who who hate the thought of Foxnews still use Myspace, even though they are owned by the same company, NewsCorp.

And people who "hate supporting" the tobacco companies use products from Phillip Morris all the time, including Oreos, kraft macaroni and cheese, Kool-aid, tombstone pizza, shake and bake, etc. The list goes on forever.

If people "care so much" that they go out of their way to keep their dollars away from these companies why don't these people make sure they aren't supporting these companies in a backhanded way?

Is it the ability to alter one's position on policy's based on an intelligent assesment,as what John Kerry did? Or, is it the ability to change lies as you go, to justify a course of action, such as invading a country that presented no threat to America, like GW did?
I hope reading this makes the far right weirdo's on this site explode.

Given the fact that the United States seems to have turned it's back on reason, and a sense of human decency along with it, I am wondering what it might take to bring some sense there way. What would be the impact I wonder if the world held a national day for burning the American flag where-ever it flies - would that finally get the message across of how we all feel about their recent behaviour??

Mr X was involved in an accident when he drove his lorry into a house damaging property; but he only hit the house due to emergency swerving out of the way of a car which just pulled out blindly from a side road. The driver of the other car is unidentified.

House owner has now put in a claim 2 years after against Mr X for damage to property. What should Mr X do, as the Motor Insurance Bureau, for damage to property against an untraceable driver, has a limitation period of 9 months. Can they be nonetheless be added as a Part 20 defendant or just defend it on the basis of wrong defendant?

Thanks a lot.

Hi, I am curious to see what people are thinking about this movie? I am not American but I think it is an interesting commentary on free speach. That said, not being American I also have no sensitivity to anything that is said about Bush so I am curious how Americans both Bush supports and not view this issue and other non-Americans like myself view it. I started thinking about this because I saw online this morning that NBC is refussing to play the trailer.

I would prefer honest intellegent answers to liberal vs constervative bashing.
