aswell as poluting the atmostphere? with all the band drivers and and teenage tear aways that are freely driving at there own will on our streets today. its just i read a question about parents smoking in cars while they had their children in it with them was a parental responsibility.and i thought there are more serious questions that need to be asked than that one. why are they picking on smokers that did not invent the smokeing. and if we take kids out in a car when we know there are band drivers and people who drive illegally on the roads because we hear it all the time on the news are we bad parents also for doing this then? are the laws looking for ways to make parents feel guilty about everything that is beyond there control? or are they just looking for ways to fine everyone?

yes i do drive a car with my kids in it which is taxed and payed for by hard work. its like dodge the dickheads that are not supposed to be driving on the roads they are the ones that put other peoples lifes in danger and they just keep doing it. some might learn through they're mistakes but most don't care.

oh get a grip. the fear of crime is far greater than actual crime, and all you do is spend more money on uneeded useless products which pander to your insecurities.

the world is full of bad drivers, oh, im perfect, its all them other drivers who are bad... no, im as bad as everyone else. but i drive carefully, within the speed limit..yes, im the boring old git upfront in the huge Volvo estate. which is wonderful when a few years ago we used to bounce the kids around in my 1962 landrover..that didnt even have seatbelts... things and attitudes change..it sused to be ok to have a beer or two, or eight, and drive home..now drink drivers are castigated and screwed by everyone. (smug grin, i dont drink) its social attitudes we need to change. put the bloody mobile phone down would be a good start, and wear your seatbelts..some idiots think that the airbag will save them.. its designed to work with the seatbelt, if your head is moving forwards (30mph crash) it'll be met by the bag exploding...and quite possibly break your neck. (which is why front facing kiddie seats can not be fitted to cars with passenger airbags.

everyone rebels against the nanny state, for whatever reason, but the state quite often does know best... but we decide it infringes our freedoms.. and break the law, or kill someone as a result. speed limits are there for a reason, and we ignore them.

speed cameras are there for a different reason.. and we turn sidestreets into rat runs to avoid them. and yes, motorway speeds should be increased, 80 will do nicely., and i'd like to see a part of the driving test include motorway driving. well, 10 minutes after theyve passed, they could be on the motorway... driving in a straight line is easy enough..but how about those (automatic) calculations we make when having to stop from 80 as the traffic backs up...and at 60mph you cover 88 feet per second, at 90 132 feet per second...or in the 3 seconds it take you to brake, its close to 400 feet.

we all need to stop whingeing, you break the law, you get nicked...not rocket science is it... oh, and im a convicted armed robber..

I was exposed to second hand smoke as a child and guess what I came out just fine. you have lobyist that work both sides of the table and whomever puts out the bucks gets their way. second hand smoke at anylevel is bad on children but these idiotic people who drive around with child in their lap, unrestained, and locked in car while they shop is of more concern to me. to fine someone for smoking in their own car is rediculous and if so , yes its to collect money. Have you ever seen the victim of a crime recieve money that the state colected in fines? ever seen anybody get their good back that the police recovered. no they auction it off. the injustice system is all about money and how much they can collect.

Children in the back of cars are a greater hazard to safe driving than the use of mobile phones BUT the Government could see that it would be a vote catcher to target the easy than the difficult.

You will notice quite a few cars with a yellow warning lozenge with a message 'baby on board'. This is actually a coded warning meaning 'watch out, **** at the wheel' there are variations including a pink sign proclaiming a princess on board. This means that the driver is probably too mentally retarded to be a **** so just drives as if he were one.

well, i'm not sure that the child car seat law was especially necessary (in the UK)... i'm sure i'll get shot of expressing that opinion... but anyway, if the state is going to get all mumsy, then yeah, sod the bloody car seat... kids should be banned from cars. they are really unsafe. i would have less of a problem with that than the car seat thing as a mother.
but then it is a bit like smoking... it is legal to buy and sell cigarettes, but you aren't allowed to smoke them!!! huh?!
or better still you aren't allowed to smoke, which is not behaviour affecting... but you are completely entiled to go and get totally drunk and be as anti-social as you like!!!! double huh?! so where is the line these days... it seems people just make it up as they go along... perhaps to justify their jobs, or because they are bitter, or something... maybe just retentive.
me? i think i'm just angry :)

i imagine the biggest contributing component is the quantity of automobiles on the line now. even as i became a baby, everyone had a "relations" automobile, a million automobile in line with relations, now there are a minimum of two, often times, 3,4,5, that is ridiculous. With that many automobiles on the line makes for more effective aggravation, ergo "highway rage", now to not teach the percentages of being in an twist of destiny go up very much.

Here is the answer, dumbass. You have to drive children places. You do not have to smoke in the car. People who do not invent guns still use them, so should all murders be blamed on Smith and Wesson? I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with you and your logic.

Hmmm, you need to cut down on the coffee and get some sleep.

Just think, everytime you set foot outside your door your taking a risk, everytime you get into a car your taking a risk. Thats life, and don't stress about it. Just be as careful as you can be, and look out for the bad ones out there!

Walk (hope no cars mount the pavement or the driver sees us as we try to cross the road)

Your question would have been easier to read and answer if you had asked the question you really wanted to ask.

We put our children in dangerous situation everyday because we don't have a choice.....putting them in danger because we smoke is a choice we make ourselves. In my opinion it's a bad choice.
