Is it because they are liberals? Or do conservatives REALLY want to keep our tax dollars here and invest them in welfare for US citizens? Isn't giving to charities ENOUGH? This is in regards to Bill GAtes and Bono, two very rich liberals who have created foundations with their OWN wealth, and convinced several OTHERS with wealth to donate as well. Why is that so wrong? Becasue they ask for others to pitch in as well? You could always say no...they aren't law makers, it's not like they could raise yuor taxes...

I have been receiving calls from some company's credit office, asking for my mom. I've already told them that she's out of the country and won't be back for at least 3-6 months. Then they asked me to give her a message. I did, but my mom said she doesn't have an account with them so she doesn't want to call them through long-distance. Then two days after the first call from the credit office, they called again, and I described the situation. Then they just insisted that my mom needs to call them. I said then it will probably be after 3-6 months. Then she said, "then I will have to keep calling". Which she did. It's been 1+month now, and they've called almost everyday, asking and saying the same thing over and over again. Sometimes in the morning when I am still sleeping, sometimes around 7pm in the night when I am having dinner. Is it ok for them to do this? Is there anyway that I don't have to suffer this?

My boss gets paid very well and I get paid in dirt. How much should I take on in responsibility how much should I slack off. I have no real direction, I feel guilty but I would have to make up and assign myself tasks, when there are no obvious jobs to be done.
Bored at work....please help!

On the one hand, I think if there is a slight chance to help those that are suffering then that is good,
on the other hand I wonder if it will 'encourage' women to have abortions or to be less 'selective' with whom they sleep with as they will just abort...

I have mixed feelings and I'm not sure.

I am looking for advice from former alcoholics who were in the military.
My brother is a marine and has been back from Iraq for about a year now. Since he has been back he has started drinking heavily, I would say almost everyday. Pretty much when he drinks he just keeps going until he passes out. That’s the first problem. The second one is his temper gets really bad when he is drunk. Since he’s been back he’s attacked my moms BF, knocked the teeth out of our sister’s friend, gotten into a bar fights, and the other night he attacked our cousin. All of these fights were not provoked; he just took something the wrong way and went nuts. When he gets angry like this he seems to transform into another person. He doesn't recognize anyone, he seems to snap. The next day he says he does not remember what happened.
I am looking for advice from any one who knows someone like this or themselves was like this. How can we help him? How did you take care of the problem? I appreciate any advice.

I mean if Bush said on a televised news conference "We will do whatever it takes to prevent a nuclear North Korea. We and our allies are prepared to levy all the sanctions necessary to stop Pyongyang from developing nuclear weapons, and if North Korea so much as shoots fireworks across the borders of one of our allies, they will start a nuclear exchange that they will not survive." What would happen? How would N. Korea and the rest of the world react to this being said by our president?

Here's the situation: Through a very complicated process, I have become head of state of some minor country with a whole lot of resources and unused wealth. I open the borders to all really cool people, and start work on creating a utopia. What would you incorporate into a perfect country?

Here are some examples: I would make several years of military service mandatory for every able-bodied man, exceptions for those with religous compunctions about fighting. I would make higher education and training completely free for exceptional students and leaders. I would not try to industrialize the country completely, knowing that the earth can't support the industrializtion we already have for very long. I would by top-quality weapons and equipment from the US and train my military forces to all be top-notch super-commandos. And then I'd marry a beautiful native princess and retire.

What would you propose if you were a member on my cabinet? Best thought-out answer will win.

I only thought about this recently, if I were a 'terrorist' in Iraq, I would want the foriegn troops out, these foriegn troops would move out pretty fast if there was no more hassle, wouldnt they? It must be a costly exercise keeping them there? Both financially and politically!
Why dont the 'terrorists' lay off until the foriegn troops are satisfied and go home, then when the coast is clear, go back into buisness and do whatever???
Yes I am aware the troops would return eventually but look at the cost?? Politically and financially!
Or have I over simplified the issue??
Why are foriegn troops still in reland, isnt that similar????
