"The war has 'too much of a human cost'," says one of the first active-duty service members and Iraq veterans to file an appeal of redress through a whistleblower provision in military law.

The number of military service members protesting the Iraq War through official communication to their members of Congress nearly doubled since Monday to 118 soldiers and Marines, according to a lawyer consulting the group.

Both House candidates (seeking to replace Rep. Bernard Sanders, I-Vt., who is running for U.S. Senate), expressed support for protesting service members.

"I appreciate anyone who contributes to a change in Iraq," said Democratic candidate Peter Welch, pro tem of the state Senate. "I'd like our troops to be heard."

Welch said he supports withdrawing American troops from Iraq by the end of 2007 and suggested that troops could become involved in shaping a new strategy on Iraq by testifying before Congress."

I am appalled at the red carpet you have rolled out for Gays and Lesbians, and family values are not important to your store. In My store I have to listen to Mexican music as well. I thing Christmas is Christmas and thats one of your heavy money times, so you might want to think about posting signs that say Merry Christmas or you are truly going to feel the brunt as I will guarantee you that this Italian family will NOT step foot in your store.Family has always consisted of a father, mother and child . not a mother, mother or father and father and child. I have a neice who is Lesbian, but she doesn't like all the hoop la people have made of it. After Cinco De Maya are you going to have Lesbian and Gay Specials. If I remember right, they put their pants on the same way I do.

I find Ruth Kelly's voice so annoying that it is hard to take in what she is saying. She has an absurd voice. Agree? Can you think of any other politician with an equally or more annoying voice?

Then WHY since the huge rise of illegal immigration, has the cost of living INCREASED while wages stay the same?

Min. wage has increased at less than 2 dollars in the past 25 yrs, while cost of living has increased threefold!!!

Wages that are not minimum have pretty much stayed the same for the past 30 yrs.--my dad was a small time mechanic over 30 yrs ago at 8 bucks an hour. Mechanics are lucky to get that much today or not much more.

But citizens are lazy because we for the most part do not work jobs under the table, but legal ones. We can't afford to live on min. wage, and illegals can, so they are harder workers?

Where is sympathy for the poor here?? The poor here are assumed to be lazy because they cannot work for such low wages and be able to put their kids in daycare and pay for gas money.

What about people who can't even find jobs? No sympathy because they are citizens. What about homeless here? No sympathy because they are citizens?

How have illegals helped our economy??

Income Tax on my Pension. This Goverment is very concerned that people save in a Pension Fund to help when they retire. I have worked all my life and have paid into my Pension, and now I find that I am having to pay tax on it. I know Pension contributions are Tax Free, but surely if the payments were Tax Free, say for pensions under £15,000 p/a then this would encourage people to save. I find it frustrating that when you reach an age when you find it more difficult to manage, this money grabbing Gov. of ours still wants it"s pound of flesh.

The States of Mexico, are only 13. We would be better able to control the drug traffic and secure the borders from terrorists. The only way that they could get in would be through South America. And thats a very thin strip of land compared to the open border country from Texas to California. We could then influence mexicans to speak english, since it is the chosen laguage of the US. Their economy is terrible only because of corruption. Their mob actually runs the government. It would bring the US to sixty four states, heck, we could even bring in the Phillipines, for a round number of 65. The Phillipines and Puerto Rico are all ready US territories.

universal health care, in my opinion, rocks. no better plan.
my first point: universal health care is cheap. heck yes it's cheaper than our stupid system today. in fact if we switched, we'd have about 2 billion extra dollars for education.
second: people all have the right to life and equality. what about the ghetto people that can't afford health care? are they not affected by our constitution? they aren't provided for because they can't afford it.
and finally... it's inhumane to let people die without health coverage. the purpose of a ******* government is to promote life, liberty, and property. note life.

MM Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore reported to have siad that if US leave Iraq now, the Terriorist will think they have won, and will go on to spread their belief thru' terror.

Thus will bring the terrorism to Eroupean countries, and Asia. As they felt that they can win USSR & USA, they can now win evryone else.

What is your opinion? Should US leave Iraq?

I went to the store the other day with my boyfriend and his father who is in a wheelchair and drives a van. When we got to the store there was only one handicapped van accessible spot available, welll sort of. Someone had parked their car in the part where the van comes out. There were two cops driving through the parking lot and we stopped one, he took one look at the car and suggested either me or my boyfriend go in instead of my boyfriends father. Well, we did just that and when we were leaving, we drove by the person who had parked in the handicapped spot. The owner of the car was a cop, not in uniform, and he was talking to the cop we had complained to. We circled the parking lot to see if the guy was going to get a ticket, but even more surprisingly, he went back into the store! Is this right?

that when he suceeds to the Throne, he wants 2 coronation ceremonies. The first will be a Christian ceremony and the 2nd is to be a Multifaith ceremony. This is a change of centuries of tradition. Do you think he should do this, or is it another case of Political Correctness going too far?

We have seen lesser known people got Nobel price. M.k. Gandhi got freedom for India with his non- violence movement and Ignited freedom movement in South africa and man of our century should have got Nobel peace award. We feel British Govt. played politics. At least now British govt. accept their mistake and honor him now with Nobel price.
