I think that it will be a mixture of cruelties, Possibly nothing to do with any kind of politcal problems that are in the news at the moment..... I think that it will have some roots in religion as religion has been the cause of all the great atrocities! If people stopped to realise that you don't need to belong to some man made system of beliefs in order to get closer to your creator and just used your own brains then perhaps these religions wouldn't have the power to cause such mayhem! I find it funny how we all preach about how we were made unique and yet all we want to do is follow like sheep! Over the years all any church has been after is the power and money to controll the masses! You will probibly find that between religion and the general greed of oil tycoons and all the rich men in the world that want more and more and more money, the end of the earth will be a gift and the card will be signed by all of them! I suppose that it might all start from some man made desease caused by genetic mutation or perhaps artificial sperm or some kind of biological warfare, then in the hope of killing the virus we might just set off a couple of nuclear bombs (perhaps nearby to a rival oil company) and in reaction to the bombs, the planet might just kill us herself by rapid changes in weather pattern!

Could be already taking place, as many have called the War against Terror the 3rd World War. After all it is the World Vs the terrorists and their sponsors

Can't tell you how, why or what weapons will be used for World War 3 but I can tell you World War 4 will be fought with sticks!!

Third World War would take place between USA and its assosiates with those countries promoting terrorism.Their are still many countries which promote terrorism and defent theirselves very well.We have to give support to this war to end terrorism.Since terrorists have all kinds of weapon they can use them anywhere so they should be finished andhow.

Answers removed my first answer, So I will try again. Mankind will be the cause of WW-lll, Because of mankind lust for power. And wealth, All of mankind will turn this earth into a cinder block to fulfill that lust. Mankind will use weapon of mass destruction and blame other members of mankind for the death and destruction for using such weapons. I just hope that if mankind survives and finally learn that lesson. So that such events like that will never take place again. But then again as long as mankind continue to exist, the lust for wealth and power will continue to takes its tolls............................. P.S. Just remember that those that start WW-lll will live in mountains and bunkers that can with-stand weapons these weapons of mast destruction. But they seem to forget that maybe no one may survive thus they will have no one to rule, And all of that power and wealth will not be able to buy a loaf of bread for what they have done to the land after their surplus run out...........................................................

I honestly believe that its going to happen soon. Possibly N. Korea, and the extremist muslim countries vs. The United States, Israel, and their allies. I believe that its possible that nuclear weapons could be used. Just my opinion though.

Most likely nukes.
Only takes one nuke to really cause a chain reaction.
Say N.Korea sends one off at Japan. Well Japan or us would launch one back. Well then China says...HEY...that effected us...so they send one to us or to Japan as well. Well of course we shoot back and now Russia says...hold it!! That one effected us...and now they shoot one at China and one at us to say...stop it you too. Well now UK and Germany jump in to back us up and they launch a few at Russia to say, leave the USA alone. Well of course Russia is gonna send some back at them...and it continues.
That was the fear for most part of the cold war.....light one....you never light just one when it comes to nukes. Even with us in WWII and Japan....we dropped 2..not 1...but 2.
