Elsewhere, 60 Iraqis died in attacks and 16 tortured bodies were found. The U.S. command said seven American troops died in fighting a day earlier. That raised the U.S. toll to 58 killed in the first two weeks of October, a pace that if continued would make the month the worst for coalition forces since 107 U.S. and 10 British soldiers died in January 2005. It looks as if the war is going the way of Vietnam. The troops are doing their best but so are the insurgents and 61% of the American people are now against the war. This is dividing the USA and it's "Hello! Welcome to Vietnam number two".

some months back did Pres. Bush say that he believed that there was about 100,000 dead Iraqis? I'm not claiming he did...I am looking for a source...but if he did and now is saying 30,000, I would have to say he would be telling a bald faced lie, with full intent. If there is no quote, Bush supporters have my apology.

You guys wanted to run with the Foley issue right in the ground and heres your news..Hillary,Kennedy,Pelosi,Kerry and the many more gave their respectful speaches for Gerry Stubbs whom died of aids over the weekend.He was censured which he turned his back on the committe with his 17yr old paige he was diddling.And your wonderful party was telling everyone what an icon he is and what wonderful things he did for the party.Not only did he die of aids he also infected that 17 year old boy.See Foley had cyber sex[which is wrong]but Foley stepped down and again the democrats showed the respect they have for the office they hold..turned his back on the censure committe,tell me you are proud?

With a general perusal of this site and any research into the state of education in the US it is obvious that the educational system is turning out a large percentage of functional illiterates.

So why shouldn't this country go to a full voucher system. Do away with tenure and let failing schools close.

Are you teachers really more interested in job security and union benefits than the education of the children of this country?

Are you really so insecure in your own abilities that you are afraid to have your performance be reviewed honestly and your compensation be in line with your accomplishments?

Would you go to a "tenured" physician, one that could not be held accountable for any mistake or negligence?

Sorry but I am absolutely disgusted with our local school districts and they don't appear to be any different than districts throughout this country.

The teachers will not return phone calls or attend meetings with parents. They just whine and cry in the media.

I'm sick of Native Americans being brought up in the debate of illegal immigration, When someone is pro-illegal they argue that "you are not a legal citizen if you are not Native American"
I thought back then it was " free land" that laws weren't developed, nor was the amendment around then?
If other people had not came what do you think America would be today, Certainly not the land it is today.

So can someone please explain why if i am NOT Native American i am an illegal in my own land myself?
