It is not unamerican to oppose the war. The majority of Americans oppose the war in Iraq which will be demonstrated in the November elections. I don't think calling people weird or nut cases, or ignorant really helps your case. I find it better to argue with out name calling. there is nothing wrong with being a lefty or a righty, I believe usually their is a happy medium. I sense that you may have some hostilities you need to work though.
As far as love or leave it. How about making it better, I can't believe you don't ever complain about the USA, it has faults and sometimes extreme measures may be needed to improve things

I wouldn't go that far. It's funny you should ask a question about her, because my husband and I were just discussing Cindy Sheehan before he left for staff duty (he's US Army) yesterday morning.
Here is my opinion for what it's worth:
I don't believe she's a nutcase. I feel awful that she lost her son so tragically.
However, no mother should ever call a US president a terrorist, nor should they ever call the people who killed her son "freedom fighters."
There are so many other people who have lost loved ones in this war...and yet, Cindy Sheehan has become a household name.
I see nothing wrong with speaking out against our country's actions. However, Ms. Sheehan (and those like her) is (are) going about it ALL WRONG.
We do have a right to dissent. That's what makes our country so great! Not only that, but we need both the "pro" war and the "anti" war crowds. The former is our muscle, and the latter is our heart.
So please, just try to remember that everyone is entitled to their opinions...though for the record, Cindy Sheehan should just be renamed Jane Fonda.

Sheehan is playing this whole martyr bit for all it's worth. She cared more about her son after he died that she ever did when he was alive. Don't believe me? What's she done for her other son other than abandon him as a toddler? If he were to join the military and pay the ultimate sacrifice for his county, she'd be touting him along side his older brother. Funny how she can by property near Ws ranch but can't but a gravestone for her dead son. She's a nut job opportunist and she's as disingenuous as a person can get. She craves the attention she gets from the liberal press and no act is to despicable for her if it means getting her ugly mug on the TV or in the newspapers.

Cindy's son gave his life so that people could stand up and spout off even if we disagree with them. Are you a veteran or just someone who criticises others? If you are not a vet. and have never fought in a war, then you sir speak out of the side of your neck. Enlist if you want to say love it or leave it, how about change it or lose it? I paid my dues to say that! What are you afraid of, I noticed you dont allow email conact, are you really that much of a coward?

I wouldn't have much problem with Cindy if it weren't for the fact that she's hanging out with Hugo Chavez; a man who has made no secret about the fact that he'd like to see America destroyed.
Many people are trying to pain the picture that Sheehan is a grieving mother who lost her son to a war and wants to put an end to it to save other parents' children. The truth is that she's an extreme far-left liberal who hates America, yet still lives here, and I'm sure hated the fact that she had a son who chose a career in the military -- likely because it would mean getting the hell away from her. Her actions after his death have been so horrible, even her husband had to get away from her and file for divorce.
EDIT: Calee -- first, over 2500 families have lost their son or daughter in the war and they're not all acting like this. Second, she isn't just protesting a war, she's going to meetings with Chavez, a socialist dictator who wants to see America destroyed. And in a book that's been published, an excerpt says this: "Sometimes I have fantasies of going back in time to when Bush was just a baby and kill him before he could do any of this."
THAT....is not normal. That is just plain sick.

Her son would be ashamed of what she is doing. He gave his life in the defense of the nation he loved and she is making a joke of what he believed in. Rumor has it that she used a portion of the insurance money from his death to buy a piece of property next to the president's ranch in Crawford, but she still isn't allowed to stay there because she is considered a threat to the president. Let's not forget that since she began this her husband kicked her to the curb because he thought what she was doing was making a mockery of their sons' death.

Yes...she needs help...She has every right to speak out against the war..Her son died making sure we all have that right.
Unfortunately the press and the liberals took advantage of her in a grieving state..made a poster child out of her and threw her to the wolves...She has definately gone off the deep end..and needs help.
I am a moderate republican supporting our president and our troops.

I think she has really dishonored her son because he was doing what he wanted to do. He wasn't involuntarily drafted. There are plenty of parents who have lost their sons and daughters in war (not just the Iraq war) and they don't go parading around for attention like she does. To me, she just doesn't want to accept that her son has died and she goes to extreme measures to blame somebody else.

i have know Idea how her son would respond..If he would hate it or love it...Noone can know...See he is DEAD...He died fighting a war doing his job...If Ms. Sheehan feels it helps her and it is right ...Go forward...It is america and Her son died for that very basic right and many others.....I think what she does is seperate from him...However, If it was not for her do you think you would know the name Casey Sheehan...Probably not!, You may think the connation of you knowing the name is negative...Not me...He was a Hero and I admire everyone who stands up...I think he gets that from his mom....

You guys really will bash Anyone, even a mother who lost
her son.
Is that in your bible, too?
So, Curt Weldon, Mark Foley & Craig Schelski are your hero's?
You act like you're all saints who are supposed to pass judgement on other human beings. Geez!!
