My town just passed a Kendra's Law, giving the government the right to force someone to take medication for a mental illness. It was named for a woman who was killed by a schizophrenic who was off his meds.

Is this a good step to help save lives, or a bad step toward a police state? What do you think?

If you're a conservative right now, I already know what you're going to say. 'This is America, if you don't like it then Git out.' Am I right? Well, save it, because I'm not going anywhere. This is where I was born and this is where I will die. What I'm asking you is this. Is there anyway to save our country from the Military Industrial Complex before the neo-cons nuke the entire planet? Can we really vote to change anything, when they rig elections and use fear as a weapon. Can Terror be defeated? Where does Terror live? If we ignore Terror, will it go away? Martin Luther King believed in peaceful protest, but will that be sufficient in these times? Do you really think the Democrats are going to save us? Do you still think it matters if you vote? You don't have to answer all these questions, but more importantly, if you don't think there is a problem, and America is not in trouble, don't answer at all. Just continue shopping and watching mind-numbing 'reality' TV shows.

And we are not talking about Humphrey Bogart's old boat that he hauled throught the weeds for days on end.

We are talking about another "African Queen" !! One that sets Laura's teeth on edge and causes her to make sleeping arrangement for herself at the Mayflower Hotel near the White House whenever the vessel in question gets her steam up and get into motivating her "husband".

(Hey, what gives in Washington, anyhow? Is it something in the water that used to not be there, or something? Reason I ask is that it seems that everyone who settles there these days goes bonkers, you know? What were seemingly nice people go trashy as soon as they take up residency in the "District"--especially inside the Beltway.)

So, back to topic (and question). What have you heard about George and the Queen lately??

According to White House sources, President Bush plans to send U.S. forces into the oil rich nation of Venezuela, capture Hugo Chavez and secure the Venezuelan oil fields. These actions, in Bush’s estimation, should prevent any further school shootings.

I'm a marine mom, and while I support my son, I do not believe in this insanity we call the war. My son believes he is there helping people who can't help themselves. While 'they' are over there in Iraq, building roads, schools, and helping the civilians, they're under sniper fire, car bombs, and engaging everyday, nothing would make me happier than sending him home, and nuking the whole damn country, and sending our boys to a country who welcomes our miliary assistance. This war will go on for a generation, at least. The politics of our country will be the death of us, while the military will take the heat, and our sons and daughters will die for politics, where is the jusification in that? Think before you answer, and remember, I am a proud marine mom, and I come from a military family. This action has been a big mistake, why doesn't someone admit it(gov't).

Its quite clear that they are creating their Bill of Rights. Look at the facts....
Against NSA program
Against SWIFT program
Club Gitmo, don't get me started on the 7-8 average weight gain, individual theormats in each suite, get to play soccer, free prayer rug and Koran or any other holy book to worship the god of their choice. Questioned in a lazy boy recliner
Also why do the Democrats reference the Constitution when we talk about how we treat priosoners? It's bad enough we gave them Geneva Convention protection, but now we're giving the terrorists amnesty and making them offical US citizens. Wacko Pelosi's speech the other day is a perfect example supporting my claim.

So if the Democrats are so against everything we do to prevent terrorism, how do they go about stopping it rather then offering no "solution" just critiscm. Or will they continue to work on the Al-Qaeda Bill Of Rights???

Life Is Life
Innocence and guilty do not measure the value of a human life.......While saying that the laws are wrong on abortion you support the same laws of the death penalty....U claim abortion is murder well then u would have to argue that the death penalty comits murder under the law as well.....some of u say it is up to god who lives and dies well the same concept would apply to the deat penalty....

Many times over different questions people make perhaps flippant remarks that the USA 'polices' Middle Eastern Countries and sticks their noses in for reasons including the rich and large oil deposits that exist there i.e. Iraq. Im not certain about this as isnt oil traded on the open market and therefore is available to purchase and therefore why wouldnt the USA just buy it like every other country? I may be being naieve here!

I was in a no fault car accident in Oct. 2005. I did not have gap insurance so they only paid for what the car was worth leaving me with a balance. The car is totaled (ofcourse) because i am no longer working full-time, and enrolled in school fulltime, I made payment arrangements with company for what i can afford. Apparently they thought i was lying and attempt to do income verification etc.. So they have aggreed to accept the arrangements. Since then they have ask to settle for an offer which i had to refuse because i did not have the funds. So i continue to send the monthly agreed upon payments. they send me reminders about the payment etc. Recently they sent me a letter stating that they are canceling the payment agreements and that i have 7-10 days to pay the entire balance. They also said that if i don't they are going to take legal recourse, and this will be placed on my credit and affect my chances of getting a job. Is any this legal or even possible?
