My brother is in the Marines to, but isnt over in Iraq. Is he your older brother or younger? Sorry its just my couriosity. Mine is older, so i have a close relationship because were seperated between 4 other kids. Sorry im rambling. GOOD LUCK! AND PRAY!!!!!!!

Gatorade (the powered kind), snack foods (crackers, cookies, chips, any kind of non perishable-even those you eat with a spoon. Just make sure you send a few hard plastic spoons!), books, magazines, puzzle books/magazines, movies, chocolate chip cookes or snickerdoodles (they mail the best to anywhere - wrap 2 at a time in some saran wrap. Then put a bunch in a ziploc bag, zip it almost all the way, then suck out all the air and zip it the rest of the way quickly - kind of like a vacuum seal. Then put it in a large glad or ziplock container which he could then re-use after eating the cookies. Make sure you mail them at the very most the day after you bake them.) Phone cards or maybe see if you can send a money order so he can buy one over there. I heard it is better if they buy them over there. Coffee, tea, powdered creamer. Cigarettes, dip, gum. Photographs, letters. Do you have kids? Have them draw him a picture or two. Body wash wipes (the kind like Old Spice makes?), hand sanitizer.
Anything he isn't able to use, there is probably someone he could share with.

Tootsie rolls and chocolate Twizzlers don't melt. If you send chapstick, send the Burt's Bees wax in a tin, that also doesn't melt. The kind of gum that has the hard shell on it is good. I always send the tubes of drink mix that you can put into individual water bottles, like Crystal Lite, because they get so bored with plain water. Comics are HUGE. They pass them around and it reminds them of home. Tabasco is big, too because it helps hide the nasty flavor of the food.
Those are just a few, but I'd be happy to share more, just email me.

Socks, Candy & Gum, CD's or DVD's, and Miscellaneous Toiletries... The link the one person included for care-packages is outstanding !
I was in the US Navy, did nine 6-month deployments, and will say the best things for me were: letters, pictures, Tabasco Sauce (makes MRE's and other foods palatable), Hard Candy, Spare boot sox and underwear, small model toys, and video tapes of US programming. This was in the days prior to satellite television or phones, email, CD's or the internet.
Please also include my respect and concern... even for a Marine (he'll understand the joke).
Also... thank YOU and the others who are taking the time to support my brothers in arms

My hubby is there and I send care pkgs. often. I sent tea bags and he loved that! I am sending Halloween decorations(small stuff), candy and fun littlevampire teeth. I try to send snacks (beef jerky and nuts are always good) I also sent him a big fluffy towel, disenfecting wipes, puzzle books and a Football (he said they have been throwing it around). I just keep my eye out for things he might enjoy or bring a little bit of home to him. (My son is sending him a Superman T-shirt this week and wants to buy him SM figures for Christmas-not sure that will happen.) Cards and letters are the best things though!!!!

Yes, food is acceptable and would be appreciated. Remember to try and send a little extra, he will have someone he will want to share your love and care with. God Bless Him and all the other men and woman that are at war for our country. What a kind sister you are, there are many that don't have support of a loving family.

My hubby is in the Army and I sent him alot of care packages. During holidays get him holiday candy (not chocolate though). Make sure to write alot and send pics. They can always use things like clothes and personal hygiene stuff. Send cards for no reason. I did that and it helped my hubby to know I was thinking about him constantly. Also send him my Thanks! Hope this helps!

I would send food. Most people send CD players and music, but I think that wouldnt be the smartest thing to send since you need to be aware of your surrondings and having a head phone set on your head will not help you when your under attack and you cant hear what's going on.
