For an employer to work you 4 hours, let you off for 3 hours then have you work for 12 hours in succession?

Isn't it that you can work 16 hours straight through but not have a break inbetween like that?

PLUS, if the employer told the employee they would cover the 4 hours shift but conviently "forgot" and try to say I was a no call, no show

and is it possible i could I talk to a lawyer about it?

if you were given the choice of sentence over someone who had offended against you personally-say burglary for instance-which would you choose?? the offender was fined £1000 of which you get half ..or..the offender received twelve months imprisonment and you get nothing. this is working on the assumption that any goods taken were insured and paid up.

This form is a questionnaire in which a court wants personal info such as name, address, date of birth, etc. to be used in considering a person as a potential juror. The "subpoena" says that if the person doesn't respond they may be subject to a fine and/or prison. The reason the form says "Juror Subpoena Failure to Respond" is because previous questionnaires were not answered.

There is an INCREASED threat of terrorism NOW than there was BEFORE the Iraq invasion. Why Are the Bush family so intent on War with these people..?? Does it boil down to the Bible and their religious beliefs?? by the way i believe religion is evil..please comment

I know people who consider themselves to be in the middle politically according to their standards but, in are actually liberal in what they believe. I'm curious to know what "foreign" or non-US citizens think is conservative politically or just plain conservative i.e. every day life styles, etc., etc. Thanks.

Why is this such a debate? why is adoption such an unacceptable alternative to killing a human being? Okay, I'll even give this to you if it will make you happy; not yet human, but a "would-be" human being.

The editorial in the Aug. 5 issue of the Mountain View Voice ("Many sides to the immigrant question") was the final "push" that made us write this response. To us, it is insulting to compare illegal immigrants from Mexico to our forefathers who came to this country and founded the amazing democracy we enjoy today. The differences are huge:

1) The people who came here to found this country broke no pre-existing laws. The illegal immigrants are called "illegal" because they are.

2) Our founding fathers and other legal immigrants, including those from Mexico, came here to make their home here. The illegal immigrants (as stated in the editorial and other newspaper articles) come here to make money and send it to their home in Mexico. That is the key: Their home is not the U.S. Every dollar sent to their home in another country is a dollar not spent in our local economy.
