Seriously. Even the Catholic Church realized how stupid it looks and changed their policy on the death penalty.

You can't that's why I am pro-life and anti-death penalty. Yes, I am liberal, but I beleive that God will be the judge of those who use birth control abortions, government should stay out. As for death penalty, we become no better, when we kill them.

Great question. Well, I'm Catholic, although I like to think of myself of a modern thinking Catholic.

I am pro-life, and I disagree with the death penalty. I don't feel that we have the right to kill anyone, rather they be a baby or a full grown adult. We are not God.

However, I have a viewpoint you might find interesting. If you research the prison system, you'll find our prisons are hugely overcrowded. The realty TV show 30 Days did an interesting documentary on that, which went inside the day to day life of a real prison.

As taxpayers, we are spending millions of dollars to keep people behind bars. It's really a problem. And sometimes, it seems the only choice is to put to death convicted murderers.

I'm not saying I agree with this... because I don't. Again, I don't support the death penalty. However the reality is that we just don't have a place to put criminals.

So how do we fix this? Well, for one, as shown in 30 Days, we need to offer counseling for criminals, like people on drugs. If we turn criminals into clean, honest working members of society, we are making the world a better place and keeping people out of jail. Over time, we could drastically improve our prisons, and keep people out of jail.

In addition, and this might sound really extreme, some people have even suggested legalizing some drugs. Now I don't like drugs, I don't use them and I don't approve of them. But it is an interesting argument.

If drugs weren't illegal, people would not fight over them, people would not kill over them, and maybe fewer people would use them because it isn't as "cool" to use a drug if it's legal.

There were not any drug problems in the 1800's, and drugs were available then. There was not drug related crime, drug related murder, and when did you ever hear about drug addicts? No, this is a product of the 1900's and into the 21st century.

Sorry, I know this is way off course. I'm just saying that I don't think people should be put to death, and I'm also saying America needs to find a better way to prevent crime in general, which can lead to murder, which can lead to the death penalty.

We are dealing with topics that other countries laugh at us for, because they don't have these problems.

I agree thoroughly with you. you could not be professional-existence and professional-conflict jointly. And at the same time as i do not understand if there is this variety of element as "sound reasoning" once you talk about someones existence, i imagine that there will be some very good thoughts about why someone believes they way that they do. Now at the same time as i'm no longer unavoidably hostile to conflict, i trust that this one has lengthy previous too far and too lengthy. it really isn't any longer a "only" conflict. Had Bush no longer invaded Iraq, i'd nevertheless help what he's doing. in spite of the indisputable fact that, he were given far off from the pastime handy and keen to do something else with undesirable intelligence and lies. i trust contained in the death penalty and that i position self belief in a lady's perfect to examine. i'm no longer a large proponent of abortion, yet i trust that it will be a legal selection. i wager i position self belief in abortion usually no matter if it really is done early contained in the being pregnant. i trust contained in the death penalty because at the same time as it isn't a deterrent, the guy who dedicated the crime will be punished. The relatives of the sufferer may have some small delight in understanding that the guy who took the existence of their loved one has been punished, no matter if it changed into extra humane than the homicide he dedicated.

PRO LIFE ANSWER: An innocent baby deserves a chance at life-and should not be punished for the stupidity of the idiots who failed to use birth control (and yes this is a LARGE MAJORITY of unwanted pregnancies). I know birth control fails, there is rape etc--but that is not the question. Abortion should NOT be an alternative to birth control.

PRO DEATH PENALTY: An adult who intentionally and with malice willfully commits a violent crime against another MADE A CONSCIOUS CHOICE to harm another. The punishment fits the crime.

If your for freedom how can you expect wages?
Doesn't make much sense does it .Just like yours.

The death penalty is reserved for those who have made the choice to kill.
Abortion is the penalty for those who had no choice.
It is all about choice.
Are the pro abortionists against the death penalty because they know abortion is murder?

I don't believe in killing innocent babies.
I believe in killing those that do! That's How.

To Kevin: We have tried counseling, Look @ all the pedophiles we gave counseling to and they were all better and went back out and ended up raping and killing a child. Kevin I would have no problem @ all taking my 45 putting it to that sicko's head and pulling the trigger. In the real world kumbya don't work!

Because that person has had a chance to live and make a poor choice. An aborted fetus never even got a chance.

The unborn child didn't ask to be born. They are innocent of any crime. Death penalty criminals made the choice to do a death penalty crime. Big difference.
