They live like royalty and have many free benefits as it is. Most of them draw more retirement a year than what I will in 15 or 20 years. They keep voting themselves pay raises and taking from the rest of us.Isn't this our fault for keeping them in office for so long?

more than four dozen firefighters 300 miles south of the U.S. border to battle the blazes in MEXICO,despite the fact that the AMERICAN southwest has been fighting raging wildfires in recent weeks??!! "The idea of sending U.S. firemen to mexico when American states are in the midst of major conflagrations, has some people shaking their heads." "How can we send our American firefighters to a hostile third world country, where just months ago, these same citizens who are here ILLEGALLY in the U.S., were chanting,DIE GRINGO.as they marched down the streets and waved the mexican flag"? "Are we stupid"?,asked one reader related to a California firefighter. "Worse, what protection is offered to U.S. firefighters if they get hurt? What protection do they have from disease while in mexico?" Who is paying for CDF to fight fire in mexico? It certainly ISN'T mexico?" "That's right folks! again, it's the good ole USA taxpayer footing the bill for mexicans in their OWN country!"

And redirect that money to help rehabilitate prisoners who are legal citizens of this country? Maybe we could get rid of some of the "magnets" that draw illegals into the U.S. and stem some of the tide of violence and crime we have with our own FELLOW citizens.? Why not use the money to help the less fortunate children of LEGAL citizens who live below the poverty line?

My boyfriend joined the national guard and he didn't really explain much to me before he left. My main question is what happens after AIT? Is he considered active duty right away or reserve and how does that work? What are his chances of going to Iraq? Thanks for any type of help!

Some media outlets seem to want to magnify all the problems the war in Iraq has rather than focus on the progress we have made. Are there problems? Obviously, but anyone with a brain can see that good things are happening also.

What do you think?

Id like to know your opinion on free healthcare. Do you support it or think its not pragmatic? do you think that it would not be as effective as our current system? Speak on it please!!

Heres my opinion. Free healthcare is vital, and should be supported by the bill of rights. Everyone has a right to life. Furthermore, if healthcare was a utopian dream, then why does it work in Canada? in France? in Germany? in Finland? in Sweden?
Each of these countries has no where close the vast amount of wealth the US has...
