It is media in America's nature to be liberal and slightly anti government because we have free press, if we had a state sponsored press similar to China or Saudi Arabia like some folks would prefer, than we would have a cheerleader press that never criticised the government, and always stood by their side, but people seem to forget, that is un American.

This is a myth that even republican acknowledge; there is no liberal media (at least not mainstream.) The major American media is ran by only less then 10 major American corporations that commonly place a pro-big business slant on the news.
Thus the media tends to be more conservative.

Watch CNN, MSNBC, ABC, or Fahrenheit 9/11, read New York Times, LA Times, St. Louis Dispatch, or listen to Air America.

THEN, drop all the theoretical bs you just absorbed and read through some facts from an unbiased source.

Now tell me if there is a liberal media....

As a moderate, I'd say Katie Couric, and many other reporters seem to be liberal.

A lot of the media is based out of Cali, which tends to be very liberal.

Fox News is obviously the station for the conservative. I'd say it's rather balanced, since Fox News is a powerhouse.

Mother Jones and Z Magazine are what you could accurately call Liberal but as far as the mainstream media is concerned, forget it, unless you count The Daily Show. And then there's Air America, but sometimes it's so off the wall, I wonder who exactly is behind that.

The media currently has a republican bias. Even right wing “spokes model”, Ann Coulter says that the right now has the media:

“…debate between Brent Bozell and Ann Coulter over whether or not John Roberts was a good judicial choice (Coulter is afraid he won't be rightwing enough!) At one point, she reminded Hannity and Bozell "we have the media now"!”

there is liberal media. mainstream, the big 3. think about it. have you ever heard anything good coming from them regarding the war in iraq? i mean, come on. schools, medicine, water, power, no more rape rooms and so on. there has never been a story on anything good, only the bad. never any hero stories about our brave troops. all you get is gloom and doom from the mainstream liberal media. includes abc, cbs, nbc, and cnn. ny times is especially guilty as is the washington post. they have an agenda and it is driven not by truth and honest reporting, but by pure hatred of the president of the united states. imagine this, we would all be wearing swastickas (spell check) had the media behaved as it did during WWII as it does now.

It's a lie invented by Republican party elites. Because the media covers all sides of an issue, they don't want their rank-and-file members to hear the "other side." So they've indoctrinated their sheep to ignore factual news stories, so that they only get their information from a biased Republican Party view.

Have you been around very long? Take a look at the majority of any media source, it's overwhelmingly liberal. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this.

Yes (CNN) and there is a conservative one too (Fox News) It is hard to find an unbiased new network. Thats why I get all my political news from John Stewart, I can laugh at both ridiculous sides of the argument.
