Some media outlets seem to want to magnify all the problems the war in Iraq has rather than focus on the progress we have made. Are there problems? Obviously, but anyone with a brain can see that good things are happening also.

What do you think?

Because liberals control the media and they will stop at nothing to get Republicans out of office. Good news from Iraq would help Republicans stay in power and it will make George W. Bush look good and they loathe him.

How can anything be positive when the war never went as planned?
No WMDs.
No WMD production plants.
No ties to the 9.11 terrorists attacks.
No ties to Osama bin Laden.
And the war was suppose to be a cakewalk with a price tag of maybe a few billion: WRONG! It has now became a costly, enduring and bogged down war leaving thousands of American GIs dead and tens of thousands of Iraqis dead. The public wasn't told about the possiblity of insurgency, civil war nor strife by politicans or the media (which was largely pro-war.)
So now that we are in Iraq and nothing has gone to plan...how can there be anything positive? We didn't invade Iraq to rebuild the very nation we bombed and sanctioned for more then decade but to disarm Saddam of WMDs he didn't even HAVE!

Forget it, we are withdrawing partially, watch the news in the next few days... its already out in Britain. The new Prime Minister of Iraq is calling for troop reductions.

We will then simply cut and run the best we can.

There was never a plan to do good there dude. We already have our goals acomplished. Set up the bases, gained control of the oil and set up a basic infrastructure so we can eventually reap major profits militarily and economically from that place.

The people, ours and thiers, were just a means to an end as far as the planners are concerned.

There was a littel good, totally not appreciated by the Iraqis and many of the troos either. They want us out, we want to leave. In that state nothing can really be considered good. It is like many who went there say "We had a job to do" thats all, now it is almost done we can pull some of the crew off.

Reconstruction of Iraqi people's needs and thier way of life was never an aim.

So if you think we are going to stay until it is built up like it was beofre even, you need to check your head.

Well, let's think about this. Liberals are constantly criticizing the war. Good things are happening in Iraq...but the media doesn't report it? Huh? The liberal-controlled media doesn't want to report anything positive out of Iraq. Why would they? They find it better to strike fear and hatred into the hearts of Americans rather than pride and security.

The reason nothibg good is being reported is because the media want's more money. Here's how it works, most people hate Bush, so those people also hate the war. The media want's money so it reports what people want to see, and they want to see bad stuff from Iraq. But if you go to the midwest, or the south, because many people there like Bush and support the war, you will see more positive stuff along with the bad stuff.

The media is on the side of the Democrats who are hurt by any positive developments in the Iraq war or the war on terror. The continual drum beat of pessimism is simply an effort to erode American's support for the Republican efforts to keep this country safe.

Could it be because there is nothing positive happening in Iraq. What progress has been made? The country has descended into civil war, how can this be positive?

the media is a private orginazation in this country. they say they are fair and balanced but they arent because they dont have to be. the media says what it wants to say, most of what they say is blantent lies, for instance something that got practicly NO media coverage(because the media wouldnt report their own screw up). in 2004 a reporter of cbs said that americans shot and killed 6 iraqi CITIZEN CIVILIANS, they were really terrorists loaded with bombs dressed in civilian clothes. media blantenly lied to america about that. never ever trust what they say, watching the news is like watching a movie, they only present one side of the story. I think its funny when the media says we are "mistreating TERRORISTS in guantanamo" while the media never says anything bad about what the terrorists are doing to our soldiers. its war...get over it people. sh*t happens. as far as the stuff thats good going on in iraq, thers alot. every day our reason for entering is justified, we have found mass graves made by saddam hussien and we have found documents and facilitys for weapons of mass destruction. sorry the bias in our media pisses me off.

Do you really think that there are many good thinks going on there??? War can't bring anything good. I've met a few people who were there as soldiers, and, believe me, none of them would like to go back. And, after all, do you hear positive news about anything today? One of the main characteristics of news today is negativity.
