It had surgery on it's mouth, from crushed walnut getting stuck in the gums while eatting. She lost a lot of weight before the surgery. The vet said to give her 100cc's of ensure twice a day. After two weeks--refusing eating mealworms or crickets--of ensure, she wasn't getting any better. the vet thought parasites could be the cause, so he give her parasitic meds. Today she died, and my sister is in tears. She had her for years. Can anyone help?

I had an established tank of fish, shrimp and snails. Then I added two small turtles. Since then, the ammonia levels have been high ( I already treated it with Ammo lock) and my water is getting cloudy.

I was using Jungle brand Water Clear, which worked miracles in my tank with fish, but is that safe on turtles? I also saw another water treatment tablet that you place into the tank that is supposed to help with turtles and reduce salmonella, but I wasnt sure if it was safe for the fish.

I am a first time turtle owner, so any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I just want clear ammonia-free water for my fish and turtles to live.

And yes, I know that once my turtles get bigger, I'll have to seperate them or risk losing my fish as food.

Also, how do I know that the turtles are eating enough, or at all for that matter? I'm afraid that my fish are eating everything (I only have 3 goldfish).

I was looking for a pet snake off of Reptile Auctions.com and found someone selling these snakes for $15. I have invested a lot of money into this snake only to find out that they are illegal. These snakes are native to GA but are really common in the pet trade, and are only illegal in 3 states (GA, NJ, HI). I want to sell it to somebody where it is legal to have them, so at least I can make some money back, but that may not be the case. I am highly concerned about getting the snake a good home and I was wondering if any of you herpers out there have any suggestions.

I am also trying to sell a trio of adult leopard geckos (1 tremper albino male, 1 high-yellow female, 1 normal female) and an unsexed coastal rosy boa.

I have a bearded dragon, and for a while now we've been using a type of sand that is very powdery. It clumps all together when she spills her water dish, AND it gets all over her, leaving her powdery! The sand we hand before that was red and powdery, and it left her covered in red powder and herfood dish ruined! Can someone reccommend me a easy-to-care-for substance I can put in her cage?

Is there any type of lizard out there thats somewhat friendly, likes to be held or doesnt have a problem with it and gets full grown length from 6inches to 1 1/2 feet? And isn't a real pain to keep (somewhat hardy), besides a bearded dragon (we have one). Thanks

I have a pet Gecko. It eats crickets bought from pet stores. I also get large black crickets in my basement. If I put those crickets in the tank with the gecko, would he be able to eat them? would they be able to hurt him? could they make him sick? could they give him worms?

Im thinking about getting a corn snake, i know they dont get very large, and i love animals.
Ive been very interested in snakes and have had much experience with pythons,
But the thing is i still live with my mom and i havent tooken an effort of getting a new pet becuse i havent really thought about it, and yet i have.
So i must get a small snake, but the least bit active
Or does anyone know of beautifully colored snakes
who dont get too big and would go great for a punky girl such as myself

I have a leo who is about 10 months old. Since I moved back into my dorm, he has been acting really mopey. He didn't eat for two weeks, he didn't want to crawl around my arms and explore like he usually does, and when he's on me he lays his head down flat (instead of perking up and looking around), kind of like a sad dog. He's eating now, I switched him to waxworms for a few days, but he's still acting weird.

So on the advice of a friend (who considers himself a reptile expert), a bought a few month old female to keep him company. They seem to be getting along, snuggling in his hiding cave. When I first got him, I got him with another leo, and they used to snuggle and be friends until they got old enough and both starting fighting (they were males), so I gave the other to a friend and he's been alone since Feb.

My question is, did I make the right choice? And what behaviors should I be on the lookout for to determine if this was a bad idea (besides him attacking her)?

I just went to a garage sale and found a big tank.

It is 2 1/2' long, 1' high, and 1' deep.

I am not putting fish in it but was wondering because a lot of equipment is measured that way.

I don't know what I am going to use the tank for. Do you have any suggestions?

AH! Someone help me and give me suggestions? Most of the rocks in his tank are too big for him to swallow, but he found one and swallowed it. =/ I usually feed him in the afternoon, and I guess he was hungry now.

i got an iguana 2 weeks ago. he was very active ate and drank well. i am guessing his is about 2 months old but that is a geuss, he is very young though.
lately he has been having stange episodes. during moments when he is basking in his light or in the sun his eyes (when they are closed) will bulge really far out of his head and he will start gaging. this will go on for about 4 seconds. he doesnt puke. he does this about 2-3 times day.
he also isnt very active and wants to sleep most of the time and if i let him sit on the floor he wont run around he will just sleep.
i also havent seen him or found any evidence that he has been "been using the bathroom" (sorry if that sounds childish).
he doesnt drink unless i help him or make him. he eats fine though and has a good apitite.

he will be going to the vet but do you have anything to say about this? is this normal? im just really scared for him. thanks and please help.

sorry the info is all jumbled up

It had red eyes and it can climb on walls and the top of a tank. Any idea what it might be?
