Im thinking about getting a corn snake, i know they dont get very large, and i love animals.
Ive been very interested in snakes and have had much experience with pythons,
But the thing is i still live with my mom and i havent tooken an effort of getting a new pet becuse i havent really thought about it, and yet i have.
So i must get a small snake, but the least bit active
Or does anyone know of beautifully colored snakes
who dont get too big and would go great for a punky girl such as myself

Corn snakes are very good first snakes to get. I've had an albino for 4 years now and he's incredibly friendly and feisty! they're easy and they don't take up a lot of space. Another good small snake would be a king snake or a milk snake. Maybe even a smooth/rough green snake. They stay relatively small and are just as easy. Good luck!

Actually a good starter snake that is mellow and small would be a sand boa. They are relatively easy to care for, stay under 3 ft. in length, closer to 2 ft. and they are easy going like most boas. They come in a variety of colors now with orange and yellow as well as some albino morphs being produced. I've had some very mellow cornsnakes that are as about as laid back as any ball python. Most of my adults are that way as a matter of fact. They are better eaters than any ball python too!

cornsnakes make great first pet snakes. there colourful, non agressive (unless teased with a mouse) and dont get to big.

another reason for yourself you want something colourful so you can get corn morphs in lots of colours for under $100 (albino corn - $45)

where as if you want a cool coloured ball python an albino one is around $700.

ball pythons are smaller then corns as adults but ball pythons have been known by almost every petshop ive sold to that theres times they wont eat for you and it has be a problem for non experianced owners. corns almost never go off there food.

hope i helped

if you want an easy snake then i would go with a ball python, they stay relatively small as compared to other constrictors, they get about the same length as the cornsnakes to (about 5 feet average) corns are really fast whereas the python is extremely slow and very docile, i have both cornsnakes and a python and of the two kinds the corns are a little bit harder to maintain but both actually make good pets and there is little maintenance ......big bonus....when the snake escapes, and it will sooner or later, the python is easier to find....good luck

I recommend you take a visit to this site and look around, read the care sheets and set ups, and ask questions. Lots of very experienced breeders and owners ready to help. They are great snakes as pets!
