I have a pet Gecko. It eats crickets bought from pet stores. I also get large black crickets in my basement. If I put those crickets in the tank with the gecko, would he be able to eat them? would they be able to hurt him? could they make him sick? could they give him worms?

Food that is too large for the Gecko can damage it internally.

Wild insects are exposed to poisons, and eat things that aren't healthy for geckos.
They can have parasites, but the poison issue is more of a threat.

When you catch the wild ones, keep them in an aquarium for a week. Feed them dog food and vegetables, it will flush their systems and "gut load" them with good nutrition for the Gecko.

Breed your own. It's easy and cheap.

It is never recommended to use wild caught insects for pet reptiles. They can carry parasites, and may have been exposed to pesticides or fertilizers and may be toxic. Just stick to the domestically raised crickets from the pet store, or order them on-line.

Its not a good idea to feed them wild caught insects....they commonly carry diseases that may kill your reptile or make them very ill. It is very possible that they will give him worms.I don't think it would be a good idea...stick with captive bred crickets.
