It costs entirely to much to keep buying crickets i mean I need to pick up crickets almost every 2days and 2 dozen that costs actually alot of money after a while so can you feed a leopard gecko wild crickets.

I'm a kindergarten teacher and our class has a big 75 gallon tank with 3 leopard geckos in it as class pets...I've been wondering if it would be ok to add one or two garter snakes, since neither would eat each other..Is there risk of them getting each other sick or is this possible?

I'm looking to buy a lizard soon and I'm doing all of the research, I'm just wondering what kind people would recommend. I've been looking at green ameivas and bearded dragons and a few other similar types.

Here's the questions I have and what I'm looking for:

The habitat I have is 36 inches long, 10.5 inches wide, and 17.5 inches tall. How long would a baby ameiva be able to stay in that habitat before outgrowing it? How about a bearded?

I'm looking for something friendly, which is why I've been leaning towards these types of lizards. I want something that's not skitterish and jumpy.

I'm a beginner, and willing to learn about how to take care of whatever type of lizard I get, but I'd like something that it isn't too difficult to take care of.

Any suggestions, or experience with ameivas or beardeds? I was also looking at water dragons and red headed agamas for a bit and am willing to reconsider those as well, any any other types people could recommend.

Thanks!

Do you know what kind of frog this is? Does his enclosure need to be bigger? Does it need filteration or can I just do water changes? He has heat, but I don't know the temp I don't have a thermometer....and most of all, what should I feed him! He won't eat the little minnow I gave him, or a cricket, or a fly....does he eat plants???

I have two spur-thighed tortoises that I have had for a year and a half. I've had them since they were babies. I am afraid my youngest may be blind or partially blind. Although in her (talullah) pen she is very active, she constatnly hits the wall or the other tortoise (rosalie). When I take her outside or let them roam in the house (supervised of course) Talullah will not move except for a step or two. She seems unable to see when we place food in front of her, only eating it if we hit it against her mouth. If she hears me drop food, she kind of roots around like a baby looking for it and depending on what i'm feeding her can make quite a mess all over her face. She startles easy when i pet her, although she is the more loveable of the two and has recently she began using her nose to smell things and then bump them with her head like her food even my leg. She tries to eat it then jumps back if I move and she realizes its me. Any suggestions would be appriciated.

My turtle is Red Eared Slider
Size: around 2 / 2.5 inches
Age: 7-9 months old
Color: Dark green
Lives in: a nice tank with plenty of room to swim and sun tan. I have an air filter.
Food: dried shrimps and dry veggy turtle food

For the past few days my turtle has been making squeeky noises. It usually makes these noises when it is sleeping with its head out of the water. I thought it might be because the water is cold but i live in a summer place where the weather never gets cold. However, I still put a towel around his tank and added some warm water. It is eating but it use to eat much more before. Im not sure why he is squeeking!

Is it because i might have over fed him? is he cold? or what! i feed him 5-6 pieces of turtle food everyday!

Please give NORMAL answers. No need for stupid ones.

silly question i know, but it was a background for a quarrel, where i backed up the version that if one is downhill the snake might "jump" and bite. so anyone can give me any detail about this

I have two red ear slider. They were about the same size when i got them, but one is growing much faster than the other. Lately I've noticed the big one is starting to be very aggressive when it comes to feeding time, and today I just discovered that the little one has bite marks all over it's mouth. and it seems very depress and keeps making this weird crying noise. the little one used to be very energetic, but now it doesn't move much and has stopped eating. This is my first time caring for turtle, and I have no clue what to do...PLEASE HELP!!
