I'm a kindergarten teacher and our class has a big 75 gallon tank with 3 leopard geckos in it as class pets...I've been wondering if it would be ok to add one or two garter snakes, since neither would eat each other..Is there risk of them getting each other sick or is this possible?

You shouldn't house them together. While I've had to practical experience housing lizards and snakes together, it is almost alway a bad idea. They will stress each other out just by being present in the same area. You also would have to make conditions ideal for both animals and that isn't always possible. I don't know about the snake, but leos like it warm and fairly dry. There is also more compitition for food when adding another tank mate.

No. initially 15gallons is to small for a leopard gecko as an person so think of of an improve quickly. Secondly Garter snakes consume lizards, fish and simmilier verterbrates so i might placed the garter snake lower back interior the wild. under no circumstances combination herps, end off.

No, you really shouldn't. The geckos would probably be very stressed, since many snake species feed on lizards. They have different housing and feeding requirements as well. Also, lizards tend to be territorial, so that is an additional stress. Just get the garter snakes their own tank and everyone will be happy!

It is not a good idea because a garter snake does have the tendency to eat or just attack one of the lizards. Just crossing eachothers path the wrong way may trigger the snake to become aggressive.
