I have two red ear slider. They were about the same size when i got them, but one is growing much faster than the other. Lately I've noticed the big one is starting to be very aggressive when it comes to feeding time, and today I just discovered that the little one has bite marks all over it's mouth. and it seems very depress and keeps making this weird crying noise. the little one used to be very energetic, but now it doesn't move much and has stopped eating. This is my first time caring for turtle, and I have no clue what to do...PLEASE HELP!!

Take it to a vet, and while you do that since the big one is hurting it you should seperate them.

Take it to a vet that specializes in RES's. Those bite marks are from the bigger one. Like someone else has said, it might have a diesease or could get an infection from the untreated bite wounds.

Good Luck

The little one is ill, mostly from stress and being bullied.

Bullying is common in Red-ear Sliders (RES), but is mostly happens when the habitat is too small and other cares need improvement.

Try a bigger tank- aim for 10 gallons of water per inch of total shell length. (Yes, this means that a 3" and a 2" turtle need 50 gallons of water, or a 75 gallon tank mostly full!)

Tank size is a MAJOR problem with many RES in captivity, but bigger tanks make everything easier and better for them.

Aw Poor turtle =[ You need to seperate them and take the sick one to the vet

Tips: When feeding feed each turtle in a seperate container that way the ank will be cleaner and the turtles dont fight over the food

hope your turtle gets better

Try separating them during feeding times and giving them individual food rations, as the dominant turtle could be eating EVERYTHING!
Consider the gender of your turtles. My male will not let my female eat if he is in 'heat'.

Try and get proffesional help from a vet.

If you think he has a stuffy noise this is really bad and needs to be treated by a vet really, use a yellow book or google to find a reptile vet around were you live.

They really need to be seperated asap and the little one should go to a vet for its injuries and problems.
