My tortise (1.5 years old) is trying to dig in his terrarium and is having no success, but outside he has dug a massive hole and loves to sit in it. I'm worried that he is not getting enough sun because he stays in the burrow ALL DAY. (he's a desert tortise, and i live in the desert...) Is that natural? he seems to be more active at night as well.

I know it's best to buy captive bred box turtles, but I cam across two wild caught boxies in a reptile shop living in deplorable conditions. I don't want to contribute to the removing of wild turtles, but I couldn't bear to leave them there either, so I bought them and brought them home. (I have a beautiful habitat I built while I've been waiting to adopt from the CTTC.) Did I do the right thing?

I have a Corn snake, age and sex unknown (it was a stray if you can believe that!) but it is an adult, about 4 1/2 feet long, and I've had it for about 3 years now. It has always been quite healthy and friendly, but last week I noticed an odd behavior. The snake was moving in fast circles on top of itself and pulsing. It stopped after an hour or so and hasn't done it since or acted weird in any other ways, so I assumed there was nothing wrong with it, but I am curious if anyone knows what was going on?

We live in Spain and found a dead gecko in our pool. It's bright green with a bit of blue, and absolutely collosal so both hubs and kids would like to preserve it. However, we have never done anything like this, so if you have any tips, please help us out!!

OK, so i was surfin the web when suddenly I saw a popup that read:30 feet long.Over 300 dead.Based on a true story. After that that I looked up on google:giant crocodile in Africa. As it turned out, it was real!but then while i was skimming through it i came upon a real article that was in a newspaper and this is what it said:giant freshwater crocodile 6 meters long.6 meters? What About the 10 meter long giant?as for 300 deaths it turns out there was only about 30.Don't you hate that?not only are they lying to the public, they are also promoting the death of an extremely rare and beautiful animal. The only dam reason its killing those people is that its too large to catch fast moving prey.

To cut a long story short, I just robbed a bunch of turtle eggs (dogs scared off the mother before she could cover them with dirt, I felt a little responsible... and I wanted them anyway :P) -and dont know what to do with them. I know they should be underground, so they are at the moment in an icecream bucket full of dirt. I dont know how long they take to hatch, or what to do when they do hatch. Any information would be helpful.

We were careful to change her water to keep it clean, put a calcium tablet, fed her every day and made sure she got sunlight. My daughter however, handled her a lot, treated her almost like a toy, could this have killed her? We just got her three weeks ago and she seemed to be thriving in her new home. She did poop a lot as her water got dirty fairly quickly (less than 3 days since the last water change). But she was eating the floating pellets just fine. I don't know what to tell my daughter or if we did something wrong. Can anyone help?

i'd like to breed her with another snake with vivid colors for a few people in a club and a pet store but i love my snake a lot and she has never bitten anyone and she's really sweet and social because i hold her a lot and take care of her cage. i dont want to put a male in her tank with her if it'll upset her or make her grumpy. if i let her have a roomate, would she be any less friendly or change at all really?
