Algae is the natural diet, you can also give them boiled lettuce, slices of cooked squash, alfalfa pellets, algae wafers (a sinking fish food), and elodea (an aquarium plant).

i just caught some tadpoles myself and i was wondering that myself until i saw that a worm had gotten in the bucket and they were eating it so i put more worms in and they went after them so worms is a good idea

their are some tadpole/frog pellets that you can feed them. They are small and soft and sink so they can get them.

Their called frog and tadpole bites.
