I have three Red Ear Sliders in a 20 gal. tank and would like to move them to a pond in our backyard. Is this OK and does anyone have any extra advice? How will they eat out there if they don't have store bought food or do I still have to feed them? They are about the size of a palm.

I'm thinking about feeding ZooMed's Mini Mealies and Can O Snails to my 2 dollar-sized RES. I'm currently providing small live feeder fish and live crickets. I know that they're supposed to have a high protein diet when they're young and want to give some variety. If they'll eat it, is canned food bad? Since they're little, they don't eat much and it would be more convenient than constantly buying live food. Currently, I'm giving fresh greens daily and rotating ReptoMin baby and ZooMed hatchling.

I live in a town that isn't very populated and i live with a grove, so obviously snakes are inevitable - but what kind of snake is slithering around? It doesn't seem to feel threatened, or be a threat [i hope], because i walked right passed it, and turned around when i heard a noise and saw it slither slowly away, in back of me. That was the first time i noticed it, all i saw was that it seemed like a solid tan/brown colour. I didn't get freaked out, but i'm not that afraid of snakes i guess, so i just walked away. Then i saw it again yesterday [or at least the same kind of snake] it was slithering down the grove and i noticed that it was two colours, pale red and the tan/brown. I've looked up a lot of snakes and cant find one that it resembles the closest i could come up with was a rubber boa and perhaps a rat snake, but even then it didn't have both colours i was looking for. I just want to know if its a poisoness snake and a threat.

whenever i am in my room where my tank is....they always come up against the tank and rattle repeatedly at me as if they want me to feed them....

i already feed them 3-4 times a day with about 10 pellets (combined) each time. (so thats 30 pellets each day for 2 turtles)

i have 2 RES'ses at 5'' each..........

it seems like they can eat 24/7!

any simliar experiences? thank you for your time!
