what should i do? i had to take it out and the few times i put it back in the bite the bottom immediately.......any simliar experiences and how did you resolve this issue?

I have a Turtle too. Mine use to bite his but doesn't anymore. If your thermometer is glass get a plastic one then you don't have to worry if he bites it cause it wont shatter. It isn't much money either.

It looks like food, which is why you rarely see that style advertised for turtles. Try a dial or stick-on digital instead.

You need to get that out of your tank IMMEDIATELY! If it breaks open they could die. Get a stick-on thermometer ASAP!
