Metal surround with glass sliding doors and like metal mesh for the top of the tank.can anyone tell me how or where i would set up the lighting and heat mat as heat travels through metal very easily.considering humidity, warmth and a cool spot.

My crab left it's shell and I think he is buried under the substrate I have for him. I think he's molting but I'm also worried he might be dying. I caught a glimps of him this morning and he looks terrible. I know not to touch him during this stage or to disturbe him but how long do I wait? It's been two days. And I only resently became a crab owner. Like a week now and I really don't want anything to happen to him because of me. Whats going on..

Ok sooo California has been unusually cold recently (like uhhh it actually snowed in Malibu yesterday) and I'm worried that my apartment is too cold for my corn snake. She's about a year old, 30" long, and as big around as a tube of lipstick. Anyways, she has one of those red sun lamps and a heating pad on the underside of the cage. The heating pad seems like a piece of crap, but it's the only thing I can find at Petco. Her cage is supposed to be 75-85 degrees, but I can't get the temperature above 70, even with all of our space heaters and everything.

What kind of heater should I get for my snakey? I don't even know what kind of cage heaters are available. The people at Petco aren't any help, so I bought a book on corn snakes, but it doesn't say anything about cage setup. Sorry if this was long and rambling, but I need your HELLLPPPP!!! Also, are there any good websites on caring for corn snakes?

I have a little fiddler crab and he looks sick! I got him at petsmart and he looked healthy but when I put him in his new cage he seemed sick looking. its probably because they need water and when I was preparing his new home he snapped a hole in the plastic bag he was in and ran around in my room for a few minutes till my dad helped me find it. he is in a 2 and a half gallon cage with gravel, plastic plants, and shells. I also alow air and land for him too since they sometimes go to land for a bit. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have Two Pythons (Nina-12ft albino burmese python, Shadow-2ft ball python) and Nina seems to get along with all of our other pets. We have three dogs (lab, poodle, and samoyen), seven cats (3 adult and 4 kittens), a gecko (Damian) and two ferrets. Not to mention the five kids. Of course I'm not going to leave her alone with the other pets (or kids) but she has gotten out before and didn't bother them... one of the cats walked right up to her and licked her.... she licked it back and went on rambling. Is this common?
