Shell conditioner is not really needed for turtles or tortoises. If you are taking care of your turtles well, they don't need shell conditioner, sulfa blocks, water conditioner blocks, vitamin baths, calcium blocks, or most of the other junk that clogs the shelves of so many pet stores!

If you want your turtle's shell to be prettier for some reason (photographs?), just clean it well, and rub a little olive oil on it for a little shine. If the shell appears dry, flaking, cracking, or injured- fix the real problem.

I know that your not supposed to use that stuff often. a vitamin bath is alot better. you can get it at pet stores. this is a great turtle forum and theres alot of people on there that know what there talking about. go there and ask the question, there all really nice too.

I would not just guess on this one. I'd say you should look at some websites and go to your public library and check out some books on this.
