does anypne know how big columbian boas get or are they the same as the common boa's?

Lots of misinformation so far. The Colombian Boa (spelled with two Os) is also called the Common Boa and is the species Boa Constrictor Imperator or BCI. It is not a true Red Tailed Boa... that would be the Boa Constrictor Constrictor which has a redder tail and tends to get a little larger than the BCI.

Common Boas usually range 6-8 feet for males and 8-12 feet for females.

They average 10 feet and 50 lbs. A friend has one that is 7 1/2 ft. and 42 lbs already! Colombian Red-tailed boa (the ones you see in pet stores, anyway), common boa, and boa constrictor are all names for the same animal.

yes they are the same thing as common boas...Columbian boas or Red tailed boas are actually a made up name... the official name for these snakes is the Boa Constrictor.. alot of people think boa constrictor is a general name for constrictor snakes but it's actually the given name to this particular snake.. they can get upwards to 15 feet in length and weigh a few hundred pounds
