I have a few questions on what I should do for my re-design of my hermit crab's habitat.

1: For a second level, I am thinking of using supports drilled through the side of the tank for support. What metal would be safe for crabs? Stainless steel maybe?

2: What can I use to keep mold from forming in the tank. When I tried to keep the substrate moist, mold grew on about $30 worth of supplies (Luckily, not the crabs) and I had to toss all of it. What chemical stops mold and is safe for crabs?

3: Is there a way to keep standing water in a crab habitat? I can not come up with anything to solve this problem. Ideas?

Sorry to cram so much in one question, but It's better than spaming the categorey with individual questions. Thanks!

I live in the midwest and am looking for a bunny. I'd like to purchase it from Petsmart, maybe Petland. Basically I am looking for one that is already spayed/neutered but doesn't cost alot.

My coworker's daughter wants a bunny soooo much. She is thinking about a dwarf bunny. She asked me to post this to find out feedback...both pros and cons. I told her my neighbor got a dwarf bunny, but it grew big. Is that common? Or were they sold a wrong one. Thanks for any feedback. Again...pros and cons.

My cat is black, with a touch of white on his chest.
Well, thats one of my animals. If you have more than one, just pick one of them.

I feed my cat canned food twice a day, and give her the dry cat food if she's hungry between those times. We keep her food bowl in the laundry room. However, when someone goes into the kitchen, it doesnt matter if she just ate, she thinks you should feed her. She starts meowing and making chirping noises nonstop. We play with her all the time, she gets plenty of attention, she's held and petted alot. But most of the time when this happens we're all really busy, and can't do that at that moment. We've been worming her regularly as well. She hides every toy we buy for her. Sometimes I even crack the door open enough to where she cant go outside, but can "converse" with the outside cats. It actually looks like that's what theyre doing. Having a friendly conversation. Anyway, is there any way to break her of this behavior? Would it help her if I gave her a stuffed animal that was not too big but big enough that she couldnt easily hide it? Cat lovers, i need your opinion!

Hi! I want to get a ferret and I am doing my research before I get one, but I would like to know if any of you have had any experience with ferrets and what they are like in general. Should I get a boy or a girl? Or does it matter since I will have it spayed or neutered?

Yesterday I noticed my rabbit cheek is very swollen....at least I think it is. It's about twice the size as the other one. I don't think he has a problem with his teeth, they are still short. His cheek is pretty hard, it's about the same hardness as the other cheek. Is he ok? Is it normal? Will it go away or should I go to the vet? I couldn't find anything on the internet so I was wondering if someone could tell me anything or where to look? Any vets or rabbit owners out there who can help?

I have looked at numerous websites but I can not identify my new pet rabbit. My friend could no longer care for her rabbit and gave her to me. She had no idea what breed it is. The rabbit is almost solid black, she has a few spots of white and one blotch of red. Her nose, also, is white. She has a tuft of fur on her chest and it really protrudes. She is very calm, and really large. I have yet to name her, so I will refer to her as Bunny. Bunny resembles a Beveren, so I'm wondering if that could be her? She is really heavy, compared to our other rabbit which is a harlequin. She has a really long sort of face, and is really chubby (she's not a hare). Bunny has rollback fur and its really soft and kind of long. So thats how I can describe her- protruding fur tuft on chest, black, heavy, large, rollback fur. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
