choose between a "yorky" and "five dwarf hamsters"

DO NOT get 5 dwarf hamsters in the same cage unless they are bro's and sis'. They are very independent and they can attack and kill each other if not in the same family! In fact dont even keep them in the same cage! Plus for me ,1 is even to much!
Get a Yorky though, you wont regret it. They are more entertaining than hamsters.Trust me i picked a hamster between a dog. I regret it.

I don't really care for Yorkies that much, I do however love dachounds. They are very sweet loving dogs. I've had a dwarf hamster and I think that 5 might be a little much. They are not really that social and if you got 5 they would all die around the same time. Sorry to be so blunt. Here's an idea though... if you want a more lovable, huggable animal- besides the 5 hamsters- but decide against the dog try a larger rodent ect. Like a guinnea pig or a rabbit. They sound like they would work for what you're looking for. Good luck finding the perfect pet.

When hamster becomes as much company as a dog, hamsters will become more popular!

Take the Yorkie...if you like dogs and can handle the responsibility. There is a lot of responsibility required. Think about it!

Depends on how much time you can spend with them. If you want to not care a whole lot than get the hamsters, if not I would say go for the Yorkie!

yorkies are an expensive pet, most have health issues.
