I have looked at numerous websites but I can not identify my new pet rabbit. My friend could no longer care for her rabbit and gave her to me. She had no idea what breed it is. The rabbit is almost solid black, she has a few spots of white and one blotch of red. Her nose, also, is white. She has a tuft of fur on her chest and it really protrudes. She is very calm, and really large. I have yet to name her, so I will refer to her as Bunny. Bunny resembles a Beveren, so I'm wondering if that could be her? She is really heavy, compared to our other rabbit which is a harlequin. She has a really long sort of face, and is really chubby (she's not a hare). Bunny has rollback fur and its really soft and kind of long. So thats how I can describe her- protruding fur tuft on chest, black, heavy, large, rollback fur. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

If she has a tuft could she be a lionhead? Or a lionhead X?

What you are describing definitely is not a Beveren. Beverens are one solid color such as black or blue. It sounds like a mixed rabbit. It may have some angora mixed into it. I'd recommend including a link to a picture. Lionheads have a mane around their neck, but the rabbit you are describing sounds larger than a Lionhead. From your description the rabbit doesn't sound like any recognized breed in the US. It's hard to conclude anything more without seeing a picture.

Send me a pic and my rabbit judging team will identify the rabbits breed for you. Pics are better than words when IDing rabbits.
