What makes a better small animal pet? A guinea pig, dwarf rabbit, or chinchilla? I can't get something that resembles a rat (because of my mom) and those are my 3 choices I've decided on. I am 15 years old and I am wondering what would be the best choice. If you have any good information on why and not just an opinion that would be great! Thanks. :]]

I know most rabbits don't like water, but that means some do. I wanna know if my bunny does, so should I get a stand and put it in the tub, then put a little water, so if he wants to swim, he'll go? Is that ok?

I'm consdidering taking a "ferret" as a pet. My co-workers tell me that they are a Vet's dream because they require alot of medical attention. I'm sure they require the necessary shots and so forth. Not a problem. They also say that they "stink". I'm totally confused. Is this a good pet or not?

I’m interested in the correlation between an animal’s (dog’s or cat’s) life expectancy and the amount of drugs (including anaesthetics, flea and worm treatments) it has been exposed to in its life.

I’d be grateful therefore to anyone who could answer the following questionnaire, regarding past pets only, or cats aged above 15 years old or dogs aged above 10 years (regardless of breed)

Please don’t include animals that have died from injuries (i.e animal attacks, being run over), animals whose fate was unknown to you or animals put to sleep for aggression or other non-health related causes. ‘Natural deaths’ only please! – this includes euthanasia for illnesses that would otherwise have resulted in death.

Feel free to email me your answers if you don’t want to post them here, or email me if you’re not clear about any of the questions.

If you have more than one animal that meets the above specifications, please answer the questions for each animal!

His mate ran away around two years when we were letting them hop around the yard. Now he seems lonely and depressed by not really answering to us.
I know it's been awhile but what should I do?

Friend said he needed to "go drop some friends off at the pool" and hung up the phone. The thing is he does not even have a car and I am his only friend. What did he mean?

Only part of our garden is secure enough for bunny to run and play at moment as we've not long moved in. As we are working on the garden at the minute, we put a gate up, so he is secure and safe at all times. If we go beyond the gate we allow him through as we can keep an eye on him, but if we dont let him through gate on his own he chews it. why does he do this and how can we stop him? He's quite a good bunny and learns really quick. We've already solved problem of him chewing all the plants.

She is around 5 months old and she likes to run in circles around my legs and she often flicks piss on me and besides that she is very affectionate. Does anyone know why she does this?

I have two rabbits, one of which is the most affectionate mature and well behaved rabbit i've ever seen, she is like a little cat. The other however is an angry little monster that doesn't like being touched, lifted or anything. He constantly growls, really quite vocally and he pounces on you an bites from inside the hutch if you attempt to fill the food bowl. I am at the end of my tether with him, he is not a good pet although i do like his little angry personality it can't go on, is there any way of stopping this behaviour before my partner sells him??

Inside my bunny I can feel this organ thing on his left side only. When he eats, it gets harder. Is that his stomach?

My friend has two cats and they just got a new puppy. The puppy has just been in their house for one day and the dog is LOADED with them! He can't go a minute with out scratching. When I was at her house, the carpet is COVERED in flees! It's VERY unhealthy. I told them to shampoo the carpet with flee powder or flee shampoo that you use on pets. She ignored me and just kept saying "There's no way I can kill them all!" I want her dog to live a heathly life! How can I get her to care about killing the flees?
