Personally I prefer dogs. They are much more social, playful and easily trainable. Easy to toilet train, easy to look after. It is also said that in our ever becoming obese nation that by having a dog you are more likely to exercise. Dogs have such great personalities and love you so much. They can be used as guide-dogs, to help people with diabetes by having some sort of reaction when they have a sugar low, companions, race dogs, show dogs and general family pets. To me cats are not as interactive, you don't walk them and they can't really be used to help the community.
Any people interested in buying a dog? I would highly recommend a spoodle, (spaniel x poodle) they are high energy, high people dogs.

Well I have two dogs and a cat. I like both. The dogs are good watch dogs and will warn us when there's something not right.

it totally depends on you. if you are looking for a pet thats quiet and doesnt require that much work to take care of, id suggest a cat. however, cats arent as playful as dogs, so if you want a pet that you can take pretty much anywhere, has a little more life in it, but requires more upkeep, id suggest a dog. personally, id perfer a dog because they can sleep around like cats do, but you can take them out and they can do TRICKS.

My love for dogs is as unconditional as their love for me. As pets, they love you. And it shows all the time.
If I wanted a more distant, independent critter I'd get into falconry. Wait, I DO want to become a falconer some day.
Oh well. Maybe if cats could fly....

Dogs because their better company and much more friendly. More "friend" like. Cats are kinda like snobby people

I like cats the best; they seem to have the same sort of
personality of two-legged people in a lot of ways; they have
moods, they're intelligent, playful, resourceful. They love
unreservedly when they're in the mood, and can leave me
alone when I ask them to, because I'm studying or reading
or sewing. I love their mischievous natures.

i prefer dogs because:
they are human-like animals.
faithful, loyal companions.
always happy, which in turn, makes
you happy. they are forgiving animals too!
very obedient..most of them.
can be trained. are able to rescue people
and get them out of danger.
cats rarely are known for that.
i could go on and on, but i'll leave you with this:
"a dog is a man's best friend"
