His mate ran away around two years when we were letting them hop around the yard. Now he seems lonely and depressed by not really answering to us.
I know it's been awhile but what should I do?

aww
you should try to introduce him to another rabbit or just try spending more time with him.
if he still doesnt respond leave him alone. it might just be cause he's getting old.
try not to let them run around in the yard.

you would be too if you lived in a cage and ate dried boring pellets all day. what about some grass and carrots? and how about a mate? rabbits are living things! they need them some rabbit love from time to time.

Sounds more like your rabbit is getting old rather than lonely.

I suggest a new friend but if it was 2 years ago then it may be a vitamin deficiency, I also suggest changing his diet.

Well if your game for another bunny, get one.
I wish I could get a companion for my rabbit, but one
of these creatures is enought for me.
