I have two house rabbits, one 10 yrs old and one 8 yrs old. They use a litterbox, run free, don`t smell, have no cage, are affectionate, are more like dogs than cats,(aren`t aloof) know their names (and lots of other words), come when I call them, play with toys, etc.MUCH better than a cat that comes when it hears the can opener.. By the way -NEVER feed rabbits lettuce- it gives them diarrahea and kills them. Read a good book or two on rabbits before buying one. Try the House Rabbit Society`s website. -Lance

We just got a Dutch short hair rabbit and he's been wonderful. Prior to that, we had cats. Rabbit seems much less maintenance and problems but cats are more affectionate.

Depends on your personality . . .A rabbit will always be kinda afraid of you, a cat will try to own you, if you have both . . .
The cat will follow after the rabbit for a bit, then the rabbit will follow after the cat (they try to mate with anything fuzzy . . . you know . . .rabbits)

I think cats have more personality. You can train a rabbit to use a kitty litter box though.

I think they are both fun to have but a cat will cuddle with you more and will be alittle less work.
