good of you to be looking out for her pets
bad of her to not try
so.. here is what has got to be done
and it is gonna take alot work
First start with the animals.. all of them need to be tested for TapeWorm... why? because tapeworm is what a Flea becomes when the Flea is eaten by the animal while it is trying to get the fleas off of itself
TapeWorms.. can cause anemia amongst other things. Could prove to be deadly to this Puppy!
Although transmission of TapeWorm to human is rare, it can happen and they have been found in HUMAN babies as young as 5 months old.. this is even more likely to happen in a home that has heavy flea infestation
In addition to treating for tapeworm, she needs to get FrontLine Plus (or similar high-grade product) and treat every single pet monthly FOREVER
Outside the house.. the yard is just as important as the house. Sprinkle the yard with a Mix of Table Salt & Borax Powder... cover it fairly heavily... repeat at least once per week until the ENTIRE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED
The house --- I am normally not one for pesticides: however, this sounds EXTREME...
as much as I hate to tell you to get spray - DO IT
Bengal Flea Spray is probably the only thing that is going to work... start with that.. one can per room of the house... spray all the floor, the baseboards & any fabric (sofa, chair, bed, pilows, etc)... wash anything that is washable in hot water & dry on high heat
Follow that with a heavy sprinkling of Table Salt & Borax
Place Moth Balls in your vacume cleaner bag
Vacume & apply more TableSalt & Borax
in 3 days do that again.. throw away the bag
Sprinkle again.. Put Moth Balls into fresh vacume bag
wait 3 days, vacume, Sprinkle again
repeat once more 3 days later & throw away the vacume bag
In 30 days spray again... and repeat the entire process!
Yes, she can kill all the fleas... it is going to require money & work...
For the health of her animals & any people it is of utmost important
note: if it were me, I wouldn't set foot in that house again until it is all cleaned up.. for my own health & EWWWWW that is just NASTY!!
and if she doesn't do it.. I would call the Humane Society / Animal Control as well as Child Protective Services (if there are any kids in the home)

You let your friend know if they don't kill the fleas
and real soon the fleas will kill the cats and then the dog
If the fleas are already invading the carpets and furniture
the problem is out of hand
If there are any children living in that house the parents
are risking losing custody of them by not acting on the flea invasion.
The best thing to do is take the 2 cats and dog to a groomer
for a defleaing and then not return them to the home until
the flea problem is cured in the home
Getting rid of fleas under the conditions you describe is very difficult they may need professional help on extermination

You are aware that if her house is infested fleas can hop onto your pant leg and go home with you and infest your house? Or each time your friend comes to your house she's possibly bringing fleas with her? If you have pets, expect them to be scratching VERY soon.
I would have your mom talk to hers. They've obviously had this problem awhile. Fleas don't just appear in the thousands. BUT - she can get rid of them. This will include treating all of the pets AND all of the carpeting, bedding, upholstery and drapes. Ok enough talk about fleas - I'm feeling itchy - EWWW!
PS: geezus "hvn_fun2" The poor girl's asking for advice and you attack her and call her intrusive? She's trying to help her friend you idiot. Please. Log off. NOW.
PPS: fleas don't "become" tapeworms. They can contain the larvae of a tapeworm and then once the flea is injested by a dog or cat the larvae grows in the stomach of the animal.

i encounter this every summer....
go to a feed and seed store. ask for a bottle of insect killer for fleas, ticks and chiggers, it'll problay have use for roaches and other insects too. i pay like 8.00 for the one i use. i think it's called bengal, but most any would work or in her case anything would help. it should be like a 1oz bottle. mix it with water into a pump sprayer and spray the entire house, soaking carpet and pet bed. make sure floor/carpet is dry b4 letting animals enter the house after spraying. repeat the same step 1 week later. for the dogs, go get advantage or frontline and spray them down well. better to give them a flea bath 1st, then a day later, spray them. you can also get the oil type that you would put on their neck that protects against fleas.
she really needs to kill these fleas cuz they will be bitting her if not already. they will adventually get in the bed with her as well. if i'm correct, i think 1 flea can lay 200 eggs. if she has them really bad, she may need to get 3 bottles of killer and spray every 3-4 days. she doesn't actually have to clean her carpet. i would vacuum, then spray, wait a day, then vacuum again.
she will also need to treat the outside cuz when the animals go out, they will be picking up fleas from outside, then bringing them in and she will have the same problem all over again. i think bengal is used for inside and outside. if she has kids, make sure they stay out of the house for awhile, cover fish tanks, food/water trays, etc.... just read the directions.
she needs to take control NOW... it will NOT get better own it's own. it WILL get worse!!!

Feminists have always worked against women. They supported the invalidation of hundreds of laws that gave protections or advantages to women in the name of equality. Their laws do not help women. VAWA doesn't really help women, their radical sexual harassment in the workplace legislation does not help women nor does anything else. They replaced all the laws that really did help women with crappy legislation that pits the sexes against each other and makes things worse on real victims. The women's movement stripped a lot of rights away from women. I think the most notable was the maternal preference in child custody cases and the laws protecting men from recklessly using and abandoning women. A woman has no security even in her marriage. Feminists claim they have helped because a man could "beat" his wife beforehand yet it is funny how my grandparents have no tales of this actually happening. Today however, women are physically and sexually abused more than ever and there is nobody to really protect her.

If she thinks she can't kill them all now, what will she say when she has a full-blown infestation on her hands and her skin is covered in tiny, red, itchy bites and her pets have scratched their skin raw? Failing to treat parasites on a pet can actually be considered animal cruelty and it needs to be done now before the situation gets away from her (it sounds like it's already on the verge of happening). Also, the whole yard and house may need to be treated and it won't be cheap. This kind of thing needs to be done sooner rather than later. Good for you for caring, and I hope you can get her to wake up!

Sounds like you are a very intrusive
The puppy has just been in their house for one day and the dog is LOADED with them! He can't go a minute with out scratching.
Has it ever occured to you that puppies scratch? or if he's a new puppy, could have come with fleas? Maybe the 2 cats do have fleas............but I seriously doubt the carpet is COVERED in flees. I think you are exagerating to get attention.
If you are such a "good friend" you sure would not be on the internet suggesting what a horrible, filthy person your friend is.......... If you are suich a good friend, shut up, go help and I hope your friend and her pets have a healthy life too.........Without the poison that you just put on her.
Help Her.............don't complain, because that just makes YOU look like the fool.

Your friend is going to have to WANT to do something about the fleas before anything will happen. She'll need to get the fleas out of her house with something like a bug bomb, and she'll also need to get the fleas off her pets with a dip, powder, spray, or other medication. Be sure to use something that kills flea EGGS as well as adults, or in three weeks, she'll have to do it all over again when they hatch.

She needs to bomb and apply frontline to all animals. Then bomb again ten days later. Frontline can work up to 3 months, but sounds like they are bad maybe frontline once a month until under control. Works great for me, haven't had fleas since they came out with the once a month application, Its like a birth control for fleas, they can't reproduce, and there life Span is short. But in warm climates you need to keep up after them. Hope she gets bit then maybe she will care, fleas can kill young pups and kittens.

you can't force someone to care about killing flees. What's probably the best thing for her to do is to get advantage for her dog and cats. Otherwise her cats are going to get infested with them too.
