All the feeds can be found at a local farm store.

0-6weeks of age: Starter Feed
6-19weeks of age: 16% All purpose feed
19+weeks of age: 16% Layer feed (Hens), roosters can stay on the 16% All purpose.

Any table scraps can be given to them after 6wks of age. Most things should be ok for them.

Feed it a grower chick feed when it is little and a layer feed when it gets older. Or a layer feed should work for both. Just something with a descent amount of protein and calcium. Don't feed just ground up corn it doesn't give them the nutrients it needs. Go to your local Grower's Co-op and they can tell you.

Also definitely don't feed it rice. Rice will swell inside them and kill them. That's why it is against the law in many states to throw rice at weddings anymore and why they throw bird seed now.

Well you could go to the pet store and get some chicken feed for baby chicks which this feed contains small crumbs of what the big birds eat or if you want to feed your chicken house hold foods then you could feed it rice soak on water or dry corn soak on water and once it gets big you could feed it regular rice, corn, bread, or chicken feed.

A chicken eats 'chicken layer pellets' they come in a 20- 40kg hessian bag. My local timber place stocks mine. They should only drink water. My stepmom had chooks, she used to throw in the old egg shells for them too...also some vegee scraps. When i worked at pet shop we had bags of stuff called 'mash' Just a bag of powdered stuff you mix with water.
I am concerned tho what your chick is eating while you are waiting for all these answers.

You can feed the chick regular chicken feed or cracked corn-- you can usually find this at a tractor supply store or farm supply store.

Grow mash as a baby...scratch as an adult or lay mash if you are raising laying hens. As an adult they can also get veggie and grain (bread, cereal) kitchen scraps.
