My husband and I just bought a pet bunny an hour ago. We know nothing about rabbits... but fell in love with him. A college student was selling him and all of accessories as they couldn't have him in the dorm.

Unfortunately, there was no breed, age or anything like that on him. He APPEARS from I've researched online to be a Rex. (?) Assuming, that is what he is.......... does anyone have a good website OR any info on the breed. He is VERY friendly. He loves to be held and petted. He is VERY sweet and already took to my hubby and I.

We haven't weighed him, but he has got to be a good 8 lbs or so. Also......... in the process of me typing this question....... he "humped" his bed and ejaculated on the floor. Is that normal? HAHA?

Thanks for any answers. We are very excited about him and want any details & info we can get! :-)

I have to clean him and help him release his stool when it becomes packed and that's how I noticed this 2" long white "worm", similar to ringworms in cats. My Pig is very old, almost 9 and in failing health despite still having a healthy appetite. My cats aren't in direct contact with my Pig. Could he have caught something in the wood shavings in his cage?

These animals (yes even microfauna are animals) all deserve the same respect surely, or is their some elitist thing going on with cats and dogs? Are they more inclined to be pests? I have to tell you that here are more complaints of cats & dogs as 'pests' than wasps in our local council Environmental section. Just what is this hypocritical behaviour? Food-chain-snobbery I reckon. And low rational cognition in pet owners.

I mean, breaking ice, raging rivers, mental bulls and even mentaller farmers with guns. These are all the kinds of hazards that mentally disturbed pet-lovers will tackle to save their stupid pets. And some end up getting killed themselves in the process only for the animal to survive and just go on getting fed and waterred by some other loser. Just what kind of idiot would do this?

I set a mouse trap cause my grandmother told me to and went to see if it had killed any mice and instead found the mouse still alive, somehow the trap snapped on his lower half just above the legs and now his lower half cannot move, but still crawls around well with the front ones. I feel very bad about this (dont like setting traps in the first place). Right now its in a shoe box, i dont know what to do with it. I'm sure its in a lot of pain probably but i dont want to just leave it outside like that. Not sure if it could live much longer, tho it seems very alive right now. Any ideas?

I am really curious... I've heard giant rabbits (german giant, checked giant, etc. ) can be house trained. What has to be done to do this? Do rabbits require a lot of work, or heavy vet bills? Do they need to get shots or anything like that? To tell you the truth I know absolutely nothing about rabbits, and I am very interested and learning about them from anyone who is familiar with giant rabbits. I don't like the little ones as much, I'm more interested in the large breed. So anything and everything you can tell me from their diet to housing to training, etc. will be perfect. Thanks a lot.

Just now I found (and removed) a American Dog Tick (identified thourgh photos) from my Pug. My folk's place has not so short grass. And my apartment is located near a river. So which location he got it, I don't know.

Anyhow, I didn't know what it was until I removed it. I removed it very easily with my own fingers. The tick was not engorged and di have 8 legs. I did a quick check and my dog (or my ferret) does nto seem to have anymore. I gace both a bath in tick killing shampoo.

Neither pet is sick. Neither is lathargic or without appetite. I am going to check them daily for a while and give them baths whenever needed. Beyond this, and buying then using a tick remover comb tomorrow, is there anything else I can do?

My bunny just all of a sudden started acting differently. Like, whenever i checked him, he used to lick my fingers (like kisses) but now he doesn't anymore. He also doesn't drink or eat as much as he used to. Also, he runs into the back of his cage whenever someone tries to pet him. Like, he'll let you pet him for like two seconds but then he'll run off. He used to be a very affectionate bunny who loved being held and cuddled so i don't know why he changed all of a sudden. his diet is the same as it has been-no new plants have been added to the menu. Any ideas why his behavior has changed?

Our mare is 7 and in perfect form. She is a 16+ hand Paint, white and black Overo. Our dream horse is one from the Gypsy King line. Won't spend the kind of money they want for a weanling, yearling or up. It is within my means to by the frozen $emen from that line and we will love whatever the mare throws. I want a serious answer from someone who has used this process. Every person I have talked to with the experience to give a straight answer has a vested interest or hidden agenda. We are not breeding her for profit on the foal, just for the sheer joy of watching the whole scenario, start to finish. A large animal vet answer would be great, but I would be happy to hear from a breeder. The mare is a beloved part of our clan and we don't want to do anything to harm her. I have been told that her size and age is perfect for the match we are going for.
