if you have a basement or a garage ask your mom if you can keep it there or keep it outside ---- my friend has the same problem so she keeps her's outside in a bigger cage than it would be inside and it is easier to clean the cage and the bunny has more room. and when it rains she moves it into a smaller cage in her basement or garage.

Use different bedding, but you really should have okayed this with your mom. People usually get tired of rabbits very fast and they are often left with parents having to do most of the work. If you are willing to give it a couple hours of playtime every day and take care of it properly, then you should keep it. Oh and don't use aspen or cedar bedding, its dangerous to rabbits.

Why would you bring it home without checking with your mother first?

Check with your vet or vet's assistant about the bedding or call a rabbit rescue organization.

If that doesn't help your mother's allergies, you will have to give the rabbit back to your 'friend.'

My stepmother has carpet on the bottom of the cage, and she has a non alergenic bedding for them in the hut thingy. She said she bought it online at like a petsmart or something.

Rabbits shouldn't be on wood shavings they should be on recycled newpaper littler (not allergenic), hay, alfalfa, hard wood pellets, or littler made from oats or barley.

If your local paper uses vegetable dye you can just use newspaper as well, but will have to change the cage often.

You can try to switch bedding, if you're able. Other beddings your mother may not be allergic to. Talk it over with her, and see if she'll shop with you to find a bedding that she doesn't have a reaction to.

Well if she is allergic to the bedding and not the rabbit then than use an alternative to the bedding. If she's allergic the the rabbit itself then you're going to have to give it away.
