Looking for a dog that is smart, cute, playful and obedient. Is there such an animal that exists???

I think greyhounds are great. They are big lap dogs and great with kids. But, since they are a bit big, you should consider a lab or retriever. Spaniels are good too. I would stay away from terriers. They are too hyper.
If you still can't decide, visit your local animal shelter. They have great dogs that desperately need homes. And of course, if you are still having trouble, you should ask your girlfriend. I'm sure she's done extensive research on different breeds.

Well beagles are really cute and smart and obedient.
You can also get a mix like a small dog and a big dog.
I think the best dogs are coker spanials. Or any Spainal for that matter. They are REALLY cute. Not to small and not overly huge. They are really nice and cuddly. They behave well when treated well. They love kids too.
Also a good dog is a Terrier they range from small to medium. They Are VERY INTERGETIC!

Nova Scotia Duck Toling Retriever.
Kind of like a Golden Retiriever, except about half size, with an orangry coat, white chest, pink fleshy nose, white tipped paws (and sometimes tail). A white line starting at the nose, going up the snout, and finishing at the top of the head is common too.

Mutts are the best family dogs. They are easy to train and generally don't come with all of the breed specific problems pure breeds have.
Your local animal control and the humane society both have websites with pictures of dogs they have, both pure bred, and mutt.
Either way, please consider rescuing a dog from one of these organizations or from a rescue group. You won't regret it.

yea there are a lot of kinds of dogs like that
I have a Sheltie I would suggest getting a female because males have a lot more fur and it would be harder. I would also say beagles. Both breeds here are adorable weather they're puppies or adults!
