If you're getting a mouse, do feed him/her on a proper mouse mix available from pet stores (especially Petsmart, their stuff is great)
In the wild mice eat a mixture of grains and seeds, sometimes insects too and even scavenge meat. They are omnivores. A proper mouse mix will contain all the nutrients they need. If you're going to give treats (and who doesn't want to treat their pets) stick to special rodent treats from pet shops, there are plenty available to choose from.

Most pet stores will carry a misture of varied seeds for small rodents. Do not feed a lot of chees as it not a natural part of their diet. While mice will eat things such as crackers, a diet more like what they would eat in the wild (not what they find in a house in a city) is healthiest

depends on what kind of mouse you get. they eat mice food and love cat food as a treat. also veggies but remember mice eat everything including meat, so you need to make sure youre not just feeding them seed. they can get the "meat" from a little bit of cat food once a week or so. they are also community animals you shouldnt get just one as they will not be happy at all!

In the wild grains, veggies and a few insects. For a pet they make nice seed/mixes or even mouse chow. Be careful with feeding them too much fresh greens-it can cause stomach trouble.

If you are keeping it as a pet.
Special pelleted and seed-based food is available. Mice can generally eat most rodent food (for rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, etc)
Hope I helped!

kaytee and other companies will make a mixed food for mice and rats....gerbil food is the closest thing too! too much cheese causes malnutrition, diarhea and dehydration.

Rodent food from the pet store, dry dog food is fine for a short time while you find some... they need very hard food to keep their teeth from growing too long....
